So I just hooked up my new JVC S7600u and played a tape that I just watched on my JVC S3900u the other day. It's a recording of The Maneaters of Kumaon broadcast over some unknown cable network on TBS in what Ive been told is the early 90s. Im not sure what speed it is recorded at....but Im fairly certain it is a tape of a tape....probably 2nd generation. Anyways, the S3900u exhibited unatural redish tint over the whole image, and so did the S7600u until I engaged the TBC, which seemed to remove that and offer more natural looking colors and skin tones.
So far pleased with the unit. Kind of unfamiliar with the jog shuttle FF an Rewind, but both are working. Tape handling seems good.
