I am new to the site and looking for some advice. I am looking to buy a used Liteon DD-A100GX from a local. However, I am not familiar with the unit and was wondering if anyone knew anything about them. I am not looking for the top of the line recorder, but rather would like to purchase it to burn/record our mini dv tapes onto dvd from our camcorders. Does anyone know if the dvd can be finalized and played on pc's and other dvd players? Thank you.

I have one that I use when traveling. I bought mine used and it has held up well. The picture quality is not quite as good as my Panasonics but more than acceptable. I think it will do everything you listed and do it well. Be sure you get the instruction book with it, especially if you are new to DVD recorders. And be careful of DVD media. Avoid Memorex like the plague. Look for Verbatim AZO if you can find it, Sony if you can't. This unit records in Video Mode, so +R and +RW media would be preferred over -R and -RW.
