I've never owned a ES-10 but I doubt its power supply would be the same as the ES-20. The ES-20(along with the ES-40v) are kind of a redesign from older(and even 1 year later) Panasonics, it's kind of a odd duck model IMO. If you have both models just open them both up, should be pretty easy to see if they are identical power supplies, if it were me I'd try and get the ES-10 going, not a big fan of the ES-20 even though it's a year newer model. And yes, both these year models where known to have electrolytic capacitor related problems
Only have the 20 but saw pic of 10's on ebay look very similar but different. Only see one bulged cap in my ES20, guess I will have to do it myself looks like no TV repair places work on DVD players/recorders.
Is the DMR ES10 power supply the same as the DMR ES20?
That's very unlikey. Panasonic is not known for that, they are known for making SIMILAR but different components in each model. I have no idea why. I would expect it to be more expensive to do it that way, but that don't seem to reuse components.
Evil is charming and beautiful. It makes you doubt yourself. It asks for one small compromise after another until it whittles you down, and it functions best when no one believes in it.-JOA
