I had my Panny DMR repaired and am trying to hook it up. While it was out for service I bought a Magnavox 535 and that is fine( thanks to help from here!). 535 is using HDMI 2 and outdoor antenna connected via 535 pass-through. Have DMR using antenna splitter for TV signal and HDMI 1 hookup for image. Do I need to use antenna out from 535 to DMR then to TV from DMR for signal. Do I also need component cables from DMR to TV. TV is a 5 year old Panasonic Viera. DMR did work via HDMI 1 before addition of 535. I know it's me!

Have you tried connecting the Panny with composite cables to the tv just to check to see if it's actually sending video thru the outputs?

Another thought...if the Panny was unplugged during servicing and the wait for pick up, it may need a channel rescan while it's connected to the antenna.

Appears to be done! Can only shut it off by using reset button(?). Had it up and running then it went berserk. Oh well, really did like the machine.

In voodoo17's first thread title the model was identified as a DMR EZ 485VK, the Costco/Sam's Club version of the DMR-EZ48VK.

It seems that a Panasonic Viera , I have a plasma, TV must have the devices turned on first then the TV to on. Does not seem to recognize any device unless it is turned on before the TV gets turned on. Live and learn!
