There must be a specialist in this forum who solved that problem already. The VHS-Cassettes must have smeared dirt on the "reading head" - the image quality is less than poor ! How can I clean that device ? Thanks a lot for your answer in advance !

Have you tried using a head cleaning tape? They may be hard to find, but a wet head cleaning tape-they come with a bottle of cleaning solution that you place a few drops in an opening, and then place in the vcr and playback for a minute.

Though your description of the image quality sounds like it may be beyond a simple remedy like this, but it's worth a try. Perhaps you could find a local tv/electronics repair shop and call and ask if they still service vcrs.

Dazed and confused over high tech.
