I use my videorecorder every day and have about 8 timer programs. Is there any way to stop video recording for a month when I'm away on vacation without losing having to reprogram everything when I get back? I can't find this in the manual or the on-screen menus.

In the 515 and 53x Series (and in the 513/2160A with SuperFW 727V installed), you can set one or more programs to "SKIP" one time but, unless the machine messes up and that sticks, it's designed to SKIP one time only, then revert to an active program.

You can just let them record and watch/delete upon return?

Here's the help file on Recording to HDD with info and instructions on setting timers, skipping, and pre-titling.

Another workaround is to change the length of the recordings ,e.g., shorten to 5 minutes instead of 30/60/120 minutes. You still have to reprogram but you save the channels, times, space on HD.

.
As long as you're editing each entry anyway, why not change:
.
  1. TIME to 1 minute.
    .
  2. SPEED to SLP (6 hours).
.
It all depends on how much FREE SPACE you have to play with... wink.gif
