Whats the easiest way to tell what Amazon that post links to?
It says Amazon/dp and I'd assume Taiwan from the product but dp and Taiwan don't exactly make sense

Why is this posted in a DVD recorder forum?? It's a HD DVR.

Some additional details;
http://producthit.com/taikwong-digit...cer-match-rec/
http://www.tvbrands.hopsforheros.com...-recorder.html

I'm still looking for the "BluRay player" it supposedly has.

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way. If you like Wi-Fi so much, OTA fits right in. After all, it is wireless.

Good catch on that - i'd speed read it and also thought it had it's own blu-ray player. Suspect whoever wrote that descript, that english isn't their native tongue.

still i'd love to see someone's report on this unit - and if they're able to play back hdmi protected video on their computer after "re-arranging" the files.

I saw the same thing in 4 or 5 other sites regarding this product.
Judging by the size and the fact it's a no name Chinese outfit, $100 is all it's worth. It looks the same size as that iView.

The new model recorder has 3 HDMI 1 DVI 1 VGA Input. 1 HDMI 1 HDMI passby (which can convert DVI VGA to HDMI directly) output.
There are also have audio input to record. It can be used for the record meeting or speech.

It looks like it would record NTSC(60hz) but with no usable US tuner it would have to record from a external tuner. Boy some bad grammar in those links, I suppose they just used some translating program but parts just didn't make sense.
It sure would be nice to have something like this available in N. America, and with our TV system but I guess if you could get one shipped it would probably work to record line outputs.....

This looks a lot like another device from china which a user imported as HDMI recorder a year or 2 ago. I cannot recall the brand but if this records HDCP signals then I am sure it encrypts the payload in the MPEG2-TS packets?

Who is gonna take the plunge and roll the dice on one of these? I'm saving for a house otherwise I would pick it up as another toy to play with.

The price is at least 3x more than what it's worth. And yes on the "another device from China".

Anyway, another e-mail from the importer/seller (translation optional);
Quote:
Thanks for your reply,
Our custom need to record the HD lesson video to sell , The recorder is 22.5 x 13 x 6 cm . Not very big. Please see the picture attachment.
We are try to make it to be remote. just like the Ninja . But Ninja can`t recorder the HDMI signal directly , It need software in PC to assistant.
Our product recorder the HDMI directly without any other software. Just click the REC buttom .
You can use our product to recorde the HDMI signal from the Boat GPS, Flight GPS, it`s similar as "black box".
We are doing some picture for your new model machine and the description , it will be release recently.
This one can decryption the HDCP in the HDMI . You can save the HDMI to the storage and make it as the disc. (We have one medel to copy the DVDs to DVDs or Storage).

Thanks.

If it really can record HDCP signals from HDMI and is stored in the clear on the hard drive then once the Hollywood companies find out they will get an injunction to block the importation and sale of this device into the United States.....
