Panasonic DVR Service

Thanks to the AVS site and those who contribute to make it such a friendly environment for valuable information! I was sunk two weeks ago when my 10-year old Panasonic DVR stopped reading discs. After a frustrating 48 hours of electronic grieving, I "lucked" on to this site and found mickinct.

I now have my DVR back in like new condition (which it was on the outside before I sent it to him) but now it works like the day it was purchased. Great job and thank you again mickinct! I am very pleased with your excellent work!

I also stumbled onto this site looking for answers to a NO READ error on my Panasonic DMR-EZ47V. I followed the advice to clean the lens and Hub/Spindle but still getting the same 5 separate, 1 second interval growls like the dvd cannot get itself spinning. mickinct any help or suggestions? Thanks!

Mickinct HELP! Panasonic DMR-EZ485V Problems

I am an RV owner who just came home from a road warrior trip.
I started looking for help while on the road with these issues.
I think Mickinct is the guy I need to connect with.
All of this used to work, believe it or not.
I have issues with intermittent output on my RF out co-ax connecter.
I'm stuck.
I absolutely need the RF out to work reliably. The RF out co-ax is a backbone to part of my motorhome AV system. I currently get a signal from peripheral equipment by bypassing the co-ax using an old A/B switch I have that was in a collection of AV spare junk. Hey, whatever it takes.
I also have a problem with the DVD Recorder unit giving me 'unable to read' messages on DVD RAM discs. For the two weeks, no DVD RAM recordings. Std Def VHS only. That works as long as you are getting Std Def signals. I got home yesterday, tried recording with the DVD RAM recorder again with the RV at the curb. It worked four times in row, but I don't trust it.
Oh, and the VHS tray won't eject unless you hold the door up manually while ejecting.
There's more to tell, but not enough space.
Waiting for advice.
Mickinct can you help?

I would like to contact you if you are interested in repairing my DMR-EZ485V that says all DVD's, movies and otherwise, are incompatible. Cleaned the laser lens, and spindle, but still get the message, indicating, as you know, a possible weak laser problem. I tried sending you an E-mail through this service but got a message that I can't do that. Ken
