Magnavox MDR557H/H7 parts or service available?

model: Magnavox MDR557H/H7
Serial: J24524610
purchased November 13, 2015
walmart.com
mfd June 2015

My Magnavox MDR557H/F7 has developed problems.

Auto scan won't detect any digital channels on my Cable TV service (a mix of about 60 analog & 60 digital channels).
The analog channels are full of static most of the time. Occasionally it's static free but only briefly.

The unit goes thru initial setup most times it is turned on.

It forgets programed settings when it has to do the initial setup.

I can manually enter only a couple of digital channels and they display clearly all the time. they are the junk channels.

My cable has about 60 analog and 60 digital channels. I can only get 1 or 2 digital channels to work if I manually enter the numbers.

Playback of previous recordings is clear and works well.

I've checked all the connections and nothing seems out of order.

I unplugged the unit , waited a few minutes and tried again. No change.

Is service possible on this product?

Is a replacement main circuit board available? I could replace that myself. I have replaced circuit boards in laptops and desktops. I haven't opened the unit.

I bought the product via Walmart.com 15 months ago.

Update from Magnavox:
They won't sell parts to consumers.
They won't fix it since the warranty is up for any price.
And fixing it would probably cost more than a new unit ($400+???)

I wish I could find some source for 2160 DVD drive replacement. Are all Magnavox DVD drives interchangeable?

You got to be nuts; you want me to pay to watch commercials?
