Forgot to see the fine print in ULead web-site as below : -

============================================================ ==========
Q: When I try to import a video from DVD disc, a message "The Imported DVD video contains AC-3 audio tracks. DVD MovieFactory does not support this audio format. Please convert the audio first to a compatible format" is shown during the process. Does DVD MovieFactory 2 support AC-3?
A: No, DVD MovieFactory 2 does not support the AC-3 audio codec, so the imported DVD video from your DVD disc will have only video and no sound. Except AC-3, DVD MovieFactory 2 supports LPCM and MPEG Audio for DVD compliant videos, which we provide the information on the System Requirement and Comparison web pages.

As the message, we suggest you use some other tools to convert the AC-3 audio to WAV or MP3 file type then use "Replace Audio" function to import the converted audio file. However, you must make sure the converted audio duration fitting in with the duration of original video, or you will encounter additional out of synchronization problems.

============================================================ ==========

but I love this software ... it can import VRO file which was edited in my E50 without any problem ... the only problem now is that there is no Audio.

Anyone know how to set the E50 to other sound format recording other than Dolby AC-3 Audio ?

I've authored several disks with MF 2.0 (trial version). I do get this error message on screen when I import the VRO file. However, if you make sure that the "Do not reencode compliant file" check box is enabled then the AC3 audio is passed thru untouched when the disk is authored.

I can't remember where this check box is in MF2.0. It's been several months since I have used it.

Note that in order for no re-encoding to take place that you cannot edit the video in MF2.0. If you do then it will re-encode and you will have no audio.

At the bottom left of the MF window there are two icons, the first is Project Options, the second is Project Settings. After you click Next on the first screen, the Project Settings icon can be selected. When you click on that icon a window pops up called "Project Settings." Below the "Change MPEG Settings" button is a check box for "Do Not Convert Compliant MPEG Files", I think that's the option you're looking for.

OK ... found it in the Project Setting.

Tried out 2 time check and uncheck the box .... still promt. the same message : - The Imported DVD video contains AC-3 audio tracks. DVD MovieFactory does not support this audio format. Please convert the audio first to a compatible format.

No audio during the test run.

I re-name the VRO file as MPEG and MF2.0 cannot detect this file.
