These are the good AZO Verbatim DVD-R for $16.18

Couldn't pass up picking up another spindle.

greasers' link is for the "frustration free packaging", though both links are for AZO Verb $16.18/100
Weird, I purchased the FFP exactly One year and a day ago Today!

I agree, GREAT price for very good media, even better when you consider B&M sells the inferior "life" series for $10 more and not on sale life can be a ridiculous 4x the price of these AZOs!
I'd purchase some but I'd guess I already have a thousand......uncle

A couple days ago the Verbatim AZO dropped to $16.08. Now it's down to $15.76 a spindle. Cheapest I've seen since when I brought 3 spindles back in 12/2014 for $15.99 each spindle.

Maybe people are just not buying dvd-r/+r media any more these days. I'm thinking about buying a couple more spindles but I still have 6 spindles in the closet.

I don't burn that much Korean dramas to dvd-r media any more for relatives. Most of them have taken my advice & purchased a media player & a large hard drive & watch them that way.

Walmart also has for $16.18 but dropped the free ship to store/FedEx. So minimum $50 for free shipping.

This the cheapest I've seen it also. The lowest I paid for it was $20.99 back in 11/2014. I also ordered 2 spindles.

I also paid $21 per 50-spindle back in mid-2014 but that was for the 4x. I've never seen the 6X priced below the 4x let alone this cheap. Probably won't see this price again in a while -- $0.32/disk is nice.

I'm jealous, those are 3x cheaper than quality Verbatim +R DLs and even more than 3x cheaper than -R DLs
I'd switch to blank BDs but I have far more DVD players than BD players and I don't have any BD burners. If I were starting over BD would sure be the way to go, thats for sure.

I archive to BD-R but I don't play them. All my video is on the servers and networked through the house. I have a low-end Panasonic BD player my wife bought me for Christmas 3 yr ago and my OppO DVD player from 2008 in the main video room. The BD player gets used maybe once every 6 months or so and the Oppo player is basically used to play music disks. Now that TiVo implemented a Plex client I don't even need all my media players except for the one in the main room with the big plasma and AVR system. Once I finally upgrade my Onkyo AVR to a newer model with Ethernet inputs, the music will go on the servers with everything else and will be streamed by the Onkyo -- then I don't know what I'll do with the Oppo.

But the BD-R's will still be there as the backups to the content on the servers. I do have a bunch of DVD+DL as well that I used up to archive stuff. I just can't bring myself to burn the DVD-R for anything -- they hold so little.

After I shopped Amazon for a while I learned that when you see a deal that makes you go "holy xxxx", you jump on it because it won't last half as long as you think. As soon as I read Chingu808's post I clicked into Amazon and bought it.

You mean, gotta love having enough money to buy enough stuff to justify the yearly cost of Prime. Right?

When I bought them yesterday they were 16 bucks a spindle, just checked and they are now up to 29 bucks a spindle. You have to admit what Kelson said earlier, when you see something on Amazon at a good price, GRAB IT *NOW* because the prices are volatile enough to change in a moment.

It's still $15.98 but "Exclusively for Prime Members" now.

You have to cultivate a strong mental attitude when shopping Amazon. You have to shop by the rules -- Amazon rules:
Rule #1 -- if the price looks to good to be true, grab it then and there.
Rule #2 -- Prime is your friend.

We have a Golden Retriever -- a real sweetheart, anyone with a Golden knows what I mean. Several months ago I had to buy a new poop-scooper. I went on Amazon to get the model we like and found that the usually $15 scooper ($25 in local pet stores) was selling for only $5. Knowing Amazon like I do I immediately jumped on it and bought 3 of them. In a couple days the price went back up to $15. I've kept it in my "save for later" box all this time to see if the price has ever gone down again -- it hasn't.

My Amazon training carries over and enabled me to grab a TiVo OTA + lifetime for $300 when they had the 2-day offer. It also allowed me to grab a TiVo Mini + lifetime for $80 when they made the 1-day transition to selling Mini's only with lifetime.

This has been going on for months now. Usually the lower price is for Prime Members first & then non Prime Members later, if Amazon feels we peons are worth it.

Well if anyone cares Top Gear, or at least the three guys that were Top Gear are going to Amazon so that MAY be a good reason for some of us to subscribe to Prime. Since they did Prime their shipping deals suck and regular sales are too short because they want that guaranteed 100 a year from customers. They wont take Pay Pal and I do online Surveys for toy money and the PayPal payout option is the fastest and most usable for me. Some will give Amazon gift cards so for them that's what I use but it takes a while to save up enough points to make it worth while to cash out with most of them.
Guess I should have just order a few packs to get free shipping as for me shipping alone was 7 bucks which kinda killed the deal.
New Egg doesn't tend to play these games and will accept Pay Pal and other options but they usually don't sell that media this cheap.

VinPower and Optical Quantum are related -- one the is the subsidiary of the other, so I would strongly suspect that the disks you get under either "brand" are exactly the same. At any rate, I've had nothing but good experiences burning Optical Quantum. I just pulled the OQ BD-R's of Dr Who seasons I burned 4-5 yr ago to put back on the server. There were about 10 disks and they ripped to the server without any issues. It appears manufacturing has shifted from 4X to 6X as the 6X spindles are now cheaper than the 4X.

One thing I have kept a close eye on is that the <$0.50/disk price pressure of these off-brands has steadily caused Verbatim to drop their BD-R price. Verbatim has finally broken the $1/disk barrier for their 6X BD-R -- they are selling US Verbatim BD-R for $0.80/disk. The Verbatim import spindles are selling for less at $0.70/disk.

I've got a good supply of OQ 6X from that last Prime sale of $16/50-spindle but the next time I have to buy BD-R I think I'm going to go for a Verbatim spindle and give them a try.

Thanks for that. I didn't want to spend the extra shipping or join Prime on the last 6x deal but this time I have some money in Pay Pal and shipping is 99 cents so jumped in.
Of course now New Egg wants you to join their version of prime but it's only 49 a year and you still get a great deal if you aren't a member, just probably not free but cheap shipping instead.

Well, thanks for that, I still had 25 bucks in PayPal so now I have another 50 coming. Haven't used my BD burner much since I got it years ago and now I can go nuts.
