I recorded to a -RW disk, the contents had a lot of edits (deleted a bunch of commercials). And like many others, the unit froze up during the process. The first half of the disk recorded pretty good, but the second half there are a bunch of spots where the video freezes for a second or two during playback. The freeze points are NOT where the commercials were deleted.
This only happens on a seperate DVD player, not the LG. Is this a problem with the way the LG burned the disk or the is it the media itself (i'm using an off brand disk)? Has anyone else come across this? The edits took place over a few days, so the disk sat in the recorder tray that long, with the power on. Could this have caused the problem?
I am connecting the LG to a cable company's Hi-def DVR with a coax cable. Is there a significant increase in playback of DVDs, and/or viewing cable, and/or recording quality by using the S-video input on the front of the unit?
