Wouldn't it be easier to stick a $100 tuner card in the PC and record on that? Between my 2 internal 400 GB drives and my five 250 GB external drives, I have 2.1 TB to record on. The video quality from my tuner card is equal to that of the DVD recorder. Since I do all my chaptering, authoring and editing on the PC, I save a step of writing to DVD and transferring to the PC. I use the Hauppage 150 card. If I were to do again I would get the dual tuner card. There are HD cards and now I hear there is an external tuner box with NTSC, ATSC and QAM all in the same $129 box.
I have seen enough to know I have seen too much. (A League of Their Own)
