My old HTB just blew it and I need to upgrade. Money is very tight in my house.

A local big box store (bjs) has the following:

BOSE® Virtually Invisible® Speaker System and Onkyo CD Receiver

The model number on the receiver looks to be: CR-325 (But, I cannot find any information anywhere on it, maybe it is only made for the big box stores?)

Speakers look to be Bose Acoustimass, with one sub and two smaller speakers.

Cost is 359.00.

I am looking for something solid that I can add to over time.

Is this a good starter setup or should I be looking other places.

Here is a link to the full ad:

Not like I am detering you from buying a HT system, but if money is tight, then why would you spend it on HT equipment?

Maybe wait until its not tight to get something that will last and can be upgraded?

My 1st Home Theater:
Mitsubishi WD-65C9 / Onkyo HT-RC160 / Onkyo SKS-HT870 / PS3 (FAT) / Nintendo Wii / Harmony One / Verizon Fios

Great advice! I was able to find that set for under $300 at a store near my house! I don't have the knowledge to seek out individual pieces to add to my HT system. I wouldn't have even thought of some of the things the whole set comes with. So I am glad I opted for a less expensive set. WAY easier than trying to put together refurb pieces from Goodwill which is what I was starting to do. lol!

can the s3300 be used as a 3+1 system?
Right now I am working on a room but until then I have no place for the rears.

I know very little but in computer speakers you can't get center without surrounds plugged in.

Yes, according to pages 12 and 32 in the manual, which BTW you should download and read BEFORE buying. Here's a link: http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/...363e7a57211552
