Newbie here

This seems like it shouldn't be hard, but I cannot find much regarding my situation.

I want to be able to listen to music from my ipod and/or computer while watching tv and/or playing games on my ps3 at the same time. As in, the audio for whatever is on screen will be muted but a separate audio feed will be playing through the home theater.

Given the amazing things these receivers can do, this seems like it shouldn't be too much to ask, but what the heck? I don't want to have to change out my cables just so I can watch football and not listen to Jon Gruden talking like crazy but saying nothing for 3 hours.

Help! And thanks!

Hi judaHhd, not sure about the computer but for iPod try this setup (using a mini to 2 RCA cable connected to iPod headphone jack).

- connect the iPod cables to TV/CD port
- select your input source (Cable box, PS3)
- wait until the source video is playing
- on the remote, press "Receiver" button and then "TV/CD" button

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Sorry it has taken me so long. I finally got a chance to try your set up. And when I follow your instructions it totally works!

You are a master and I thank you!

Glad to help, enjoy.

If your computer has an optical output, I guess you can do the same by connecting it to optical-2 port (TV/CD). Then press the "Audio" button on remote and select "OPT" under the Audio Selector and switch back to "Analog" when using the iPod.
