Looking to replace a piece of **** system that came with my fifth wheel. My needs aren't great - I've got 53 year old eyes and ears. ;-)

Here's what I'm looking for:

  • 110VAC power
  • Compact - small speakers capable of being mounted via 1/4-20 stud, small subwoofer
  • 5.1 (RV is already "wired" for this)
  • Passive subwoofer preferred (remember, small too)
  • Tuner (AM/FM preferred, FM definitely)
  • Blu-Ray preferred, DVD OK
  • HDMI out
  • Optical audio in
  • Budget friendly

Thoughts/ recommendations?

What's budget friendly? Put a number on it.

And I assume since space is at a premium you want a unit that merges the receiver and the disc player?

Don't believe everything on the Interwebz! A duck's quack DOES echo!

"Budget friendly" = maybe $200 to a top of $500.

Yes, Ideally an all-in-one unit. Weren't HTIBs pretty much that until recently, I seem to recall? (But then, I *am* getting old, so I may be mis-recollecting and remembering my 8-track days!)

They've been both all-in-ones and standard receiver+speakers units for some time.

Honestly, sticking with a big brand like Sony or Panasonic should have what you need. Sorry I can't provide specific models.
