o.k I am about to purchase a home theater for my new TV which is a 60 inch Samsung led 240 hrtz for only $2099 (just bragging a little) anyway here is my situation.
I am very smitten with the Onkyo htib there are several that I am considering mostly the HT-S8409 7.1. But I may try to save a few bucks and go with the 5500 or the 7409 I like the idea of one of these systems because of the convenience, price point, wireless rear speakers and most of all a new system that should last for years.
Now here is where I throw a curve ball. I do have a pair of JBL MRV308 tower speakers pictured below. I bought them about 15 years ago at a going out of business sale for 75 percent off the original price which was $250 each quite a deal.
Now I have only used them for about a year then they got stored so they are in perfect condition. So here is the question should I get the Onkyo htib and if so which one. (My room is anout 13x19).
Or just buy a receiver and build my system around the JBL's. I connected them to a receiver just to try them out and they are super loud. Any advise would be appreciated. I have about 700 to spend and the room is about 2000 cubic feet
Onkyo is NOT know as a long time speaker manufactor and JBL is...this is a no brainer. See if you can find a center channel to match those JBLs!
