Helping a buddy with the audio for his basement which he's going to start finishing...he wants simplicity so leaning towards HTiB, but also would like HDMI audio passthrough or whatever it's called (my Denon does this - with a "soft" power off, passes audio/video to the TV), and if possible a receiver capable of zone 2 audio for the kitchen area that will be off of the TV/rec room.
Been out of the loop for a few years, so any advice is appreciated...if there's a receiver and a separate 5.1 speaker package out there that would be a better option, I'm all ears.
He does have 2 small kids so I'm thinking floor standers are not an option.
Oh yeah, budget...probably $500-600 max.
