Hello.

My Tv Screen Picture turns on and off, when I connect my surround system to my Ps3.

Sometimes it all works fine, but mostly the screen turns on and off all the time, every 1 second.

The same happened when I connected my laptop, but only with a 20sec delay for each on and off.

What could the problem be?

Not sure why it keeps going on and off and on and off.

But if you are using HDMI. There might be an HDMI handshaking error. Sometimes with HDMI devices the devices need to be powered up in a certain order. I noticed in my system my TV either needs to be the first or last component to turn on. If the TV is the middle device to turn on my tv will say no input signal. Then all I have to do is switch the receiver to a different input wait a couple of seconds then go back to the input I want and then its fine.

I did what you told me, but nothing worked.

I even tried different orders, in turning them on.

I get a picture for 1 second, which sometimes also comes with some strange horizontal lines. Then is goes black for 2 sec, then the same posses repeats.

Could there be something wrong with the HDMI cables?

This is a long shot, but go to your PS3 settings and turn off deep color. Your comment about the horizontal lines makes me think that could be the issue. Worth a try.

Hello.

I did what you told me and I did not work.

But I found out something strange.

I connected my PC screen to the surround system and my ps3, since it has a HDMI slot.

When I did this, it took about 5 seconds and it worked flawlessly.

Then I took the cable back in the LCD TV and it worked.

So I turned off everything again and retried, and I got the same error. Turns off and on all the time and sometimes even stays off all the time.

So I tried to connect to my PC screen again and it worked fine. Then took the HDMI cable to LCD tv again, but this time it did not work. Retired a few times, but the same on and off all the time.

Something wrong with the TV or the Onkyo receiver not being able to connect to the TV as it should? Really strange stuff.

It worked fine ever since I got it, with a few in and outs sometimes, but just recently it has started to bugg out completely.

I missunderstood what to change in the options and I actually changed what you told me to do and it fixed the problem, thanks a lot for your help! smile.gif really appreciate it !

Also, what does deep color off actually do? Make it look a bit worse?
