anyway to stop the home theatr from turning on with the TV, i assume the hdmi is telling it to turn on, unsure which settings to look into

sorry panasoniv viera 65 inch 2011 model and i am going to have to dig around for the receiver model but its brand new

Check your settings on the tv. There should be a setting for changing power settings, and HDMI settings, regarding the same in Setup.

Go to your Viera Link settings. Either turn Viera Link off completely, or change the "auto-on" setting to OFF if you want to continue using other features.
