Hi guys. I've got two options to consider for movies and music (equal preference). First up is the onkyo 5.1 HTIB ( HT -S9405THX ) and the other is a Jamo 5.0 Cinema System ( S428 HCS3) and Jamo sub 260 coupled with a Marantz receiver ( SR5007). Both options are around the same price. Which will be the better overall option??

Marantz and Jamo!

The Marantz is a better receiver than the Onkyo plus it uses Audyssey MultEQ XT which eq's the subwoofer and does a much better job with the other speakers too. the Onkyo receiver does not eq the subwoofer at all.

The sensitivity of the Onkyo speakers is really low too.
Output Sound Pressure Level
Front 83 dB/W/m
Center 83 dB/W/m
Surround 81 dB/W/m

Sensitivity of Jamo 428 HCS3 speakers
Front 90db/W/m
Center 87db/W/m
Surrrounds 86 db/W/m

Its a no brainer to get the Marantz and Jamo combo.
