Back in '09 got the inlaws the http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=HT-S3200&class=Systems&p=s

They were more than happy. I of course was not happy with the HDMI pass thru. So I recently snagged a Onkyo 5.1 HT-RC430 http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=HT-RC430&class=Receiver&p=s

Of course after I purchased the HT-RC430 I realized I was a dolt cause the HT-S3200 had a POWERED sub channel.... DOH. Oh well, so yeah, I waffled back and forth on what sub to get, figured why not 'splurge' a bit and get the F12 for them.

Their "fronts" are dinky 3.25"s lol. Can you say "can't keep up?" I figure the F12 will provide some bangin LFEs though biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

yeah its a good move because you'll have a better subwoofer than what you currently own.

I have a hunch that you'll end up replacing the Onkyo speakers eventually so the Bic F12 will help you grow with your new system.

Remember, in-laws. I've already got a huge system (M70s, 1kw 15" Tumult, yada yada yada).

They are probably gonna be all WTF Mike, we don't need this ish. Then of course they'll see the light once the first movie explosion hits their backsides. I'd love to replace their 5.0 speakers, but they have space constraints, plus I highly highly highly doubt they'd even be willing to go with towers / bigger fronts from an aesthetics standpoint frown.gif

I'll report back with how the 'upgrade' all blends in once I've tweaked it all.
