Hello everyone,

Recently tried to have this set up but I just cannot figure out the way to connect these components to my 5.1 surround sound system.

I connect the Roku 3 to the receiver via HDMI, then from receiver HDMI out connects to the BenQ. With this set up I can only get the video signal and no audio. Is there another method to connect this? Perhaps Roku 3 to BenQ via HDMI and then audio out (analog) from BenQ projector into the receiver?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi skittlesovermnm, the VSX-90TXV is a HDMI pass through receiver. Meaning the audio can't be read off the HDMI so you have to run additional audio cable (optical, coax or analog) which the Roku 3 doesn't have. A 4X1 HDMI switcher w/ optical and coaxial output may work in your situation but if the BenQ projector doesn't support 5.1 audio it may downgrade to 2Ch audio.
