I'm a complete novice with modern audio systems so my questions may sound idiotic to many of you. Please keep any responses and instructions simple for this 'dumbo.'

On my blu-Ray player there is both a USB and a SD connector but when I go to 'Input Selection' the list which includes 'BD/DVD/CD' 'iPod' 'FM Radio' 'AUX (TV)' etc has 'USB' & ''SD card' greyed out and it is not possible to view or change the settings for these. Is there a reason for this or is there something I need to do to 'fix' it?

Secondly is it possible, having connected my iPad to the player, to view my iPad photos on my TV (Samsung) screen or play music through the player's speakers? I have tried but the player does not seem to 'see' that a connection has been made although the iPad asks me if I want to 'trust' the player. If it is possible to view photos and play music what do I need to do to achieve this?

Note I haven't tried inserting my camera's SD card to see if I can see those photos on screen.

Thanking you in anticipation.
