Hi Everyone,
I figured I'd throw everyone for a loop and post an odd ball thing. A few years ago I left the terrestrial life style for a life aboard a boat (a 40ft sailboat). I have managed to live without an audio/video system for awhile now, but the time has come when I want to get something that can somewhat simulate a theatre experience within my small confines. I am not talking gargantuan, but with a projector, I can probably have a 3ft high screen mounted in my aft cabin. I've used a pico projector to quickly test out the theory and the video side is somewhat solid. However, I'm still hoping for a small portable ideally bluetooth/smartphone/projector capable type surround system that takes up very little space. Ideally, I'd love to be able to have a bunch of little speakers and be able to assign them their surround channel roles (5.1) accordingly. If they were able to be a bit rugged, as things do kind of get bumped around on a moving boat, and obviously be a little bit weather resistant. I'm not talking audiophile quality by any means, but enough to watch a movie and enjoy the experience. Also if anyone has any recommendations for a pico projector as well that'd be awesome. I have a NAS onboard with MKV "content" and It'd be ideal to be able to stream to a small projector via wireless. Are there 1080p pico projectors? Lastly, battery power/rechargable is preferred.

Anyone got any brainy ideas/recommendations?

I dunno, from my experience, the realm of boat interiors is highly custom and individual.

That said, marine departments at Crutchfield and Amazon might be a good place to start.
