Why don't you pick a couple of models that you think look good and post the links so we can check them out. Wireless has issues so you might want to consider a wired option if that's possible.

NEW Home Theater Setup

Hi All,

I am fairly new to setting up a Home Theater and not an expert at Audio setups. I was searching reviews on BOSE, ONKYO, YAMAHA HITB's across various forums. Typically everyone mentions "BOSE" as a good marketing unit with average speakers. Didn't get much luck about ONKYO or Yamaha's as well. Majority of reviews talk about setting up a HITB with various components rather than taking a solution from 1 brand. I am trying to build my first HITB on a $500-$700 budget. Besides price, the other restriction I have is around Floor Speakers. I need something small for my Living room. The following is what I am looking to put together after doing research;

Receiver - Denon AVR-S510BT 5.2 Channel ($229)
Speakers - Polk Audio RM 705 5.1 Theater System ($140.26) {Was looking for Polk Audion RM6750 but can't find them online}

I am not based in the US hence have to purchase them from an online vendor like Amazon that will ship to an address that will eventually ship this out to me internationally.

I am happy to get suggestions on both Receiver and Speakers if any. As mentioned, I am not an Audiophile and will use the system mostly for Movies and Music. Besides small speakers, I would like to have the ability to stream music via Ios Devices (either via Bluetooth or WiFi).

Thanks for all your suggestions in advance.

You want to spend more than $600, but what is your limit. I would suggest buying a separate receiver, speakers and sub. Sometimes you can get a decent receiver in an HTIB, but the speakers are usually the weak spot.

At the bottom end for reveivers

For a little more money, you get a lot more features

These review well and are inexpensive-not wireless

You can add the matching center

Dayton subs are good bang for the buck

On a tight budget, this is a consideration.

For wireless, this will get you there with any speakers

Im still running an onkyo 7.1 system i purchased in 05' and i love it. Im only upgrading the reciever as it has no hdmi switching. My theater is in my basement and the onkyo system will vibrate things off the kitchen counter upstairs if i crank it.
