Hi MississippiMan! Summer's over and I'm back inside. smile.gif

Anyways, I 've been reading your threads and see you've been using the 1.0 mm tip on the Graco 2900... What fan size are you looking for with that tip? I'm spraying Kilz2 thinned right now, and the consinstancy seems right. However, I'm only getting a 6 - 8' pattern. Should I thin up more to get 12"-14"? Or is 6" - 8" what you get with the 1.0 mm tip? BTW, even if I pull pretty far back that's still what I get...

Thanks!!!

No... with a smaller tip you have to expect a smaller fan pattern.

Using a 1.0 mm tip is at the very lowest limit. I used 1 recently because I was spray painting onto a manufactured Tab Tensioned screen.

Just minutes ago I finished up the third coat onto a big 2.35:1 screen using a 2.2 mm tip on a Wagner Control Spray Max and a thicker than normal paint mixture.

You have to simply use a bit more precision when maintaining your 60 percent overlap on each row. When the pattern is smaller, it's always best to reverse the direction you start at with each coat. Start at the top, then on the next coat start up from the bottom. In that manner you're almost a sure that you will have plenty of rollover lap and eveness.

To quote James T. Kirk;
