I've been using blackout cloth for my 110" screen. The picture is great, but the velcro I used to hold it to my aluminum frame isn't working. The corners keep coming off. So, I'm thinking of switching to a Sintra screen mounted to my existing aluminum frame. Wondering if anyone has tried a colored Sintra panel? If I could get a picture as good as my current one without painting, I'd be happy.

Thanks, yeah, that looks like Sintra white is pretty good as is. I thought perhaps a gray would be better, but those tests show otherwise.

Sintra has a slight Gloss, and it's not always distributed evely. To be safe you should thoroughly rub down the surface using a "dry" Magic Eraser to remove the sheen and reduce the surface to being a true "Flat" white.

I have a 114" diagonal (56" x 100") Sintra Screen on Tap to spray soon, (late next week) down 'Nawlin's way der'bouts. It will be a Silver Fire v2.5 3.0hg (high gain) and the Sintra is in fact "Black".

I plan to cut the 5' x 10' Sintra down to 60" 104" and mask off 2" all around with Frog Tape. The "unpainted" Black border will be treated with a direct applique of Velvet if after the screen goes up it (...the raw black border...) doesn't look "gud enuf' "'

I've used Black before to help contrast performance, while using a very light, silvery gray top coat.

I will post a dedicated "Build Thread" as well, I just wanted to make the point that Sintra's real worth does not lie with being a "Hang-n-Shoot" option, but rather as being an excelent Substrate for almost any "Paint-able" application.
