Hank, the lights I'm using are a high velocity industrial illuminator aka light canon the ones you see on construction sites. I have my project on the ceiling approximately 10feet away.

The sheet I was using was a 48x96 1/32 inch acrylic sheet

Both the previous videos leave much to be desired. Smallish screen....3000 lumen PJ...I mean really. And is this screen not the same one shown below? The rehash doesn't do much in it's favor.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and if the PJ has changed from being a Optoma HD600x...a PJ with
1280x800 resolution DLP, 2500 ANSI lumens, 3000:1 contrast, all the way up to a Optoma141x HD...a PJ with 1920x1080 resolution DLP, 3000 ANSI lumens, 20000:1 contrast,.....then something very sad has happened.

No where near as impressive as this one coming from a fellow AVS'er

I get the feeling his paint is the mix I made. His YouTube videos mention made for Optoma and Epson 3600
Same guy emailed wanting mix.
Now trying to sell it on eBay.
At least give credit where do.

Thank you
No modifications to silver fire.
No products or similar paints used
Made a whole new mix before even finding this awesom site.

Probably would of never ventured into making a paint for my PJ.
Long story short was a gift to me and needed better blacks didn't want to spend money on a screen. Before I tried an alternative DIY project.
Most of my home and personal things get modified by me alone.

Hey folks, I've been lurking this thread for a while and I'd like to start off by expressing my appreciation for all the work that's been done here. I have, however, had a couple of questions in the back of my head, so now seemed as good a time as any to bring them up.

First of all, @HumbleHub your work with vinyl has thus far just been a single-layer solution, correct? Some other users had brought up the idea of adding further layers, such as the reflective and diffuser layers used in some of the earlier window-tint designs. Has anyone tried such a solution? @joikd you had mentioned planning a two-layer screen on a piece of Sintra, with a reflective Mylar base layer under the vinyl. Did you go through with that? If so, what were your impressions? When you were experimenting with the vinyl previously, you had mentioned that it seemed translucent enough to benefit from the reflective layer, did that hold in practice? On the diffuser side, the idea was mentioned briefly, but what were people's thoughts on it? Does it seem potentially worthwhile, or is the matte vinyl surface diffuse enough that it seems redundant?

On the topic of diffusers, was there ever any consensus on a good diffuser film? There was quite a lot of experimentation to try and locate one after New Design departed, but all of the samples I recall seeing appeared to be far too thick and opaque (and were rejected as such). In New Design's earlier experimentation, he referred to photos showing his chosen diffuser film, in which the sample is clearly labelled as 3-mil OptiGrafix LBMT. However, he later mentioned using a 4-mil PVC material. Any thoughts on what the identity of that might be? Myself, I've played around a bit with some of the matte acetate considered as a consumer-available alternative to the OptiGrafix, and my findings were quite similar to those mentioned previously: the material would look great if there were a way to apply it consistently, but any sort of adhesive or wet application quickly causes it to curl and wrinkle, ruining the overall finish of the sample. A clear Mylar equivalent to the acetate was proposed, but it didn't seem to be available in any suitable width.

Can you please show me on how you build the curve screen.

Are you using the regular projector or Anamorphic lens with your projector.

Thanks!

Just a follow up on my previous questions regarding diffuser films: I got in touch with OptiGrafix, and they confirmed that the LBMT diffuser film is the exact same material as the matte acetate sold for art supply. I was also able to locate a matte Mylar film in a wider roll on eBay, so I'll do a little experimentation and see if that compares at all to the acetate.

Good luck, AetherSmyth. When you get a winner figured out, tell us about it - not like New Idea and HumbleHub, who disappeared.
