After some more testing and it gets checked for color balance. Right now it is an interesting concept.

gbrnole almost nailed it.

Perhaps the "something else" is glass beads?

More testing and checked for color balance? I thought the idea here was to discuss concepts, not anticipate their "release"...

Unlike my test panel of S-I-L-V-E-R, and other people's S-I-L-V-E-R screens, it appears to do a much better job of utilizing it's 'overly reflective properties'!

So...whatever happened to this promising solution? mech, did you give up?

Anyone tried to find Behr Silver Metallic recently? I went to Home Depot today and was told it's been discontinued.

It's still on the shelf at the two Home Depot stores available to me, but it's really no big deal if it is discontinued; most stores that sell art/craft paints (such as Michael's or Dick Blick) carry several brands of "metallic silver" paints that are very similar to the Behr product.

Just so everyone knows, it's shelved locally here at HD also. However, based on the layer of dust on the lids, methinks this is not a mover anymore. And, HD dumps slow inventory.

Well, I've now been to every home depot here (Austin, TX) and all of them told me it was discontinued . Maybe just the regional stores decided to discontinue it here or something.

I'm finding that same pattern repeated at other chain operations also, especially costco. Lately I couldn't even find my Sam Adams there.
HD however will make a special order for you with any current supplier they do business with. That includes Behr.

I see on the Behr website that they have grouped several items under the name BEHR PREMIUM PLUS WITH STYLE® Luminoso. However when you look at the information page for the Luminoso you will find "Silver No. 743" listed.

For a while I too thought the product had been discontinued but then I found it hidden away.

In light of the difficulty finding it, could some other product be used?

"ATTENTION" The use of Behr Faux Glaze (clear) is superior to the Polyurethane for the lower level of Lumens DIY LCD PJs produce. It can lead to too "warm" an image on brighter PJs, but is exactly what an under-acheiving LCD needs to go "POP"!

anybody have any thoughts on this? i already have a can of behr poly. it is really a noticeable difference using the faux glaze? Thanks

The only emperical way to know is to test both side by side. You may wish to repost in a new thread asking 'Anybody compare x with y'? It's unlikely you'll get much attention on this old thread.
