It is the Behr Faux Glaze. It is kind of milky looking when wet, but dries clear.

doom.

Hello,

Came across this simple mix at the start of thread and from my samples it looks like a winner.

****************
1/2 cup Silverscreen
1/4 minwax
1/4 cup pearl
medium gray to taste
***********************

My question is has anyone painted over the durotherm sheets? If so is a light sanding recommended before applying the first initial coat?

Understand I've only painted two rooms in my life and that was over 12 years ago.

Thanks for the help.

all experts and cedman1

I have been waiting for the experts to come up with a simple solution other than behr ss which I used and happy with except the ambient light problem
Is any of the experts ready to guide us novices at this stage or we will wait till bead screen solution is finalized which I believe is still up in the air
thanks

Well.....

Finally got around to painting the mixture I listed above and the result were very decent. The only additive I used that wasn't listed is 3Tbsp of Folk Art Silver Metallic.

Just wanted to thank everyone here for their efforts and help with my first DIY project.

The mixture was painted onto a 4x8 sheet of white paneling from HD.

Actually, yes. I was able to watch some playoff games last evening with the lights on in the room. Typically when I was shooting onto the white drywall the only way to get a good image was to turn off all the lights.

Also my colors appear to have more punch than they did previously. In summary I read about the screen DIY forum on other sites and how crazy some of the people in the forum must be to play with the different paints and fumes that are associated. I'm glad I can know also be lumped into that crazy group of people in this forum.

Good stuff all the way around.

Thanks for this thread. Some good info if you skip the OT stuff :)
I've been tring to decide on a good solution to walk out of HD with a gallon of paint tohand to my painter. After reading all this it looks like the best solution is to buy:
2 Quarts of Behr Silver Screen
1 Quart of Minwax Acrylic Polyurithane
1 quart of Behr Pearl (I don't shop at WM)
Have the HD guy mix them togeather in a 1 Gal. can. Pick up a 3/16" nap lint free Wooster roller and life is good.
How that sound?
Thanks for all the help!
