It's a shame they are forcing people to buy so much "stuff and the subsequent high price rather then enable people to buy what they want. Why force people to buy vinyl when they want the bluray, for example.
I agree that the prices of these Immersion sets are crazy especially if one will never listen to most of the content included. If EMI (?) would just put out the Bluray at say $30 they would probably sell quite a few copies. At $145 I don't see that many being sold but I could be wrong with that assumption.
Preordered it today. The remastering on DSotM and WYYWH in the immersion sets are great. Gladly fund these efforts to make sure their back catalog gets remastered properly. Can't wait to give it a spin.
One would hope where this is 20 years newer than TDSOTM and WYWH that there may be good things to work with on the remaster. My original euphoria has been tempered somewhat with the reality of the price. Guess I'm in that crowd that would like to see a stand alone blu-ray MC. I have the Immersion editions of the other 2 mentioned here, but at semi-reasonable prices ($75), I don't know if TDB will ever get that low in this configuration. I know it's been a couple years since the others were issued, and that some people were holding out for a blu-ray only release...does anyone know if that ever happened? If not, the fate may be the same for TDB....
Well I look at this way. I've been in this hobby long enough to remember paying $50-60 per Laserdisc. The immersion sets were around $100 when I got them I and have never regretted buying them. The music industry isn't exactly churning out material that caters to my tastes. Life is short. $140 for something I will thoroughly enjoy and listen to often isn't enough that I am going to boycott it on principle. Don't get me wrong, I see the other side as well. The Blu Ray is all I will really be after. Though the box will look nice displayed next to my Pulse LD and DVD.
^^ I'm boycotting on principle. Then again, I recently bought Moondance and told myself repeatedly that I wasn't going to buy the deluxe Moondance just to get the 5.1...

I buy as much surround music as possible, even some that I'm only marginally interested in to support the cause and hopefully spur more surround recordings being released.
I'll pay $30-40, maybe even $50 for a recording I'm interested in like this one, but good grief, $100-150? Nope, not doing it.
I'm another person that only wants the Blu-ray disc. The Division Bell is an OK album, but hardly my favorite Pink Floyd album. I might pay $150 for an immersion box set of Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets or Ummagumma, but Division Bell, no thanks.
Looks like Pink wants more green... makes me blue. I'd be seeing red but it's too challenging looking through rose-colored glasses. I guess it's a good thing Pink opened my vision to our dark gray world. I'd write them a scathing letter but I'm too yellow.
Below are links to the new Allman Brothers "The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings" set. They offer three options which are albums, CDs or Blurays. Now that is the way it should be done IMO. Offering a boxset with vinyl and Bluray doesn't make much sense to me. Apologies for being off topic but I wanted to show there are ways to do these box sets the right way. By the way Fillmore East is one of my all time favorite albums. I'm all over the 3 Bluray set
Add me to the no buy list unless we get a blu ray only type release for a fair price. All I want is the blu ray and I sure as hell am not paying $150 for it.

I also cannot see the reason for not releasing the bluray audio version. (would people complaing that the 4:3 format video is missing ? Possibly) . Of course, most live recordings don´t have the best quality, as it´s quite a critical recording envirornment. But, I guess they could have made the effort on releasing it on this format.
