New Steven Wilson Album - To The Bone

Due August 18, I would expect to see this available in blu ray 5.1 knowing him...
Track Listing:

1. To The Bone

2. Nowhere Now

3. Pariah

4. The Same Asylum As Before

5. Refuge

6. Permanating

7. Blank Tapes

8. People Who Eat Darkness

9. Song Of I

10. Detonation

11. Song Of Unborn

Here is a listening video of the song "Pariah" from the album, with the incomparable Ninet Tayeb...

Pre order is up at Burning Shed and Amazon.co.uk this morning for the blu ray/dvd @ £13.99. Vinyl only at Amazon.com and nothing yet at Amazon.ca. North America should be up before the day is out I heard. Also believe there will be a box set @ £50.00, though I haven't investigated the contents.

Some more info on what each version will contain as well as Amazon pricing so far. There will be a 5.1 on BD and DVD but it looks like just on the deluxe set. His deluxe releases are an instant collectors item judging from the used prices of earlier releases.

Hey ti, the pre order link I posted earlier at Burning Shed shows £13.99 for the dvd/blu ray only, unless that's wrong.

I'm surprised that the To the Bone set is DVD and Blu-ray. Usually it's one or the other. Could it possibly be a mistake and that it's a CD/Blu-ray set?

Here's a quote from ti's link on the deluxe set Bill...

"If you haven’t upgraded to blu-ray (why not!?) a DVD is also included which features the hi-res stereo mix, the 5.1 as DTS 24/96 and the two promo videos."

Sounds like they're trying to cover all their bases? But yeah, that's new if it's true.

I pre ordered from Burning Shed this morning, I still see no activity yet in NA for the dvd/blu ray and don't want to miss out on this one. It's also £13.99 at Amazon UK but the description is for CD and only one disc. One would think that should be the dvd/blu ray as it's the same price as Burning Shed, but Amazon strikes again in their poor description.

Sweet! The SDE site didn't have that info on it.

Whenever SW has a new release, it's a cause for celebration. Give Petey an extra biscuit tonight.

Yeah I ordered the DVD/BD package from BS it's $23+ change shipped to the US. I agree it's kind of an odd combo unless it is a mistake on BS's part. we shall see.

I would hope there is a CD layer in there somewhere. I'm 'ok' with a download code but those are always MP3 so not preferable.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Excellent price! I'll have to pre-order it from my local Bull Moose store. Their stores are so cool as they're a throw back to the record stores of years past .

I wouldn't take what Amazon says about region coding on blu ray to the bank. This will be blu ray audio which is typically region free.

Just listened to the Redbook this evening. Twice. Is it as supercalifragilistic as Hand.Cannot.Erase? I don't think so, but it's a very good album.

Not as of a piece as H.C.R., but HCR's backstory makes it a tough album to beat in that respect. Plenty of atmospherics that I'd love to hear in 5.1.

I just checked Bull Moose and they had the "To the Bone" Blu-ray Audio at one of their stores. I called my local store to have it shipped there and once the order went through it's out of stock again. I read that there is a distribution issue with the Blu-ray Audio causing delays in shipping. Not sure if that's true but there has to be some reason why the Blu-ray Audio is so hard to find.
