Is there a list somewhere of DualDiscs with actual DVD-Audio on the DVD side (instead of DD)? I am interested in the John Mayer, Room For Squares disc. It is probably unlikely since it seems to be a Sony release and there is a hybrid SACD of the same title but I can't find a definitive word.

Here is the DVD-A release list from QQ. Scroll to the bottom and the DualDiscs w/DVD-Audio are clearly marked.

There are probably at least twice that many more, mostly 5.1 Entertainment Group releases (Silverline/Immergent/Myutopia). A few that I own and really like from that label:

Queensryche - Tribe
Jane Monheit - Come Dream With Me
Corrosion Of Conformity - America's Volume Dealer
Dar Williams - Green World
Dar Williams - The Beauty Of The Rain

There are a many others from that company, most are certainly to be avoided.

From EMI/Capitol:

Anne Murray - I'll Be Seeing You

I expect the Pete Townsend/Ronnie Lane DualDisc with DVD-Audio will be the last one ever released.

I came up with about 70 or so from 5.1 Entertaiment Group. Here is an article mentioning 45 released by Silverline as of November 2004.

http://www.avrev.com/news/1104/19.silverline.html

I think the last one released by 5.1 Entertainment Group was early last year, either the B. J. Cole or Pere Ubu DualDisc and everything I have seen released since then by that company hasn't been DVD-A. The Alan Parsons DualDisc, "A Valid Path" on Immergent was not DVD-A. The Silverline, Immergent and Myutopia sites should have the titles by each company if anybody wants to try to figure it all out.

Silverline's crappy DVD-A releases did nothing but damage the credibility of the format, not matter how many good ones they actually came up with in the "later" years, the damage was done. The replacement DualDisc's that they came up with of the same crappy titles did nothing but take up space in racks that should have held decent releases from other labels, and make the retailers that did stock them think the format was the reason they were not selling, not the crappy execution of the format.

Anyone who wants to take the time shifting through all of the dribble at Silverline is only sifting through disappointment.

I certainly could never argue that the percentage of 5.1 Entertainment Group releases being good is very high, I doubt if it would even be above single digits, but there are still plenty from the company I like. If only 9% of the three hundred or so releases are worth having, that makes about 30 good ones. I can't imagine Silverline hurt the format any, no other company released very many titles since good or bad, they just haven't sold well. The Immergent releases are good as a group in my opinion.
