I was going through some listings on HALF.com and came across DEEP PURPLE-MACHINEHEAD DVD-AUDIO. The price on it was $259.99. Oh well it beats paying $519.98.

I think a copy of this just went on ebay for about $60.

I was able to find it twice this year and so bought 2 copies. The most I paid was $30. Altogether I've bought it 3 times now. An old girlfriend nicked my first copy among other titles. What is the penalty for messing with a guy's music/electronics ? 10 years/20 years ?

I paid $14.99 (plus shipping) off ebay six months ago for the sealed DVD-A. That must be some special disc.

What I can afford, when I can afford it...

Queen - Night at the opera for $15 + shipping on ebay a month ago. Of course that took a lot of patience and constant checking at odd hours, but it paid off in the end.

I wonder about all these inflated prices. I've also seen this DVD at other places (sorry, cannot remember were as I was looking for something else) for a lot less than $200+. I think most of the high prices on places like Amazon are sellers looking to exploit people who absolutely, positively need to have what they want right now and don't have the patience to wait.

SACD library.

All I can say is I hope Half.com charges a lot to list an item for $259.99. I can't imagine the seller will have anything other than a bill for the listing after it ends.

In any event 5.1 Marketing claims to have it in stock for $29.77 plus $5.40 shipping:

http://www.5point1.com/ROCK-DEEP_PUR...ad_DVD_A_.html

I have only heard the SACD, which uses the 70's quad mix and is preferred according to the polls at quadraphonicquad.com. That price is still way above retail, but it is a title with a tiny demand and even smaller supply.

I picked mine up at the time of the formats wake[2002] for about $20.00 at BB.
It easily worth twice as much IMO. Even the DD 5.1 sound better then many CDs out there.
A fantastic album and recording.
