Yes you did say that! My resolution was to be more mindful of my purchases and my cash..I can still steer this boat on course, inexpensive OOP should comply with my resolution me thinks....

Dan,

I believe you will easily fall under your resolution if you buy soon to OOP SACDs for low prices. If there is any issues I'll back you up with some type of twisted rational.

I just bought:

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue JSACD (SICP-10083)

I have the Columbia CS 64935 single layer MCH version and I have been wanting to compare the two SACDs. I had some points with cdjapan so I grabbed the JSACD version for a great price.

My SACD collection, watch it grow and my wallet shrink ;-).

Denon 4311 (in preamp mode), Parasound 2100, Boston Acoustics A7200 amp, Oppo BDP-103, Consonance CD120, Panasonic TC-P60GT50 plasma, Panamax 5100EX, Salk Song Towers, Song Center, ADS 300C (surrounds) and two Rythmik F12SEs.

Please let us know what you think, I've been wanting Kind Of Blue ever since I sold my LP, just didn't know which one I wanted, or rather which one would have the best SQ.. Great buy.

That's a buzz kill...hopefully the screwed up shipping will prevent me from having to return as well. I'll have to get up in the middle of the night and give them a call.

Anytime, just don't use me for anything other than a "SACD buying defense".

I sure will. If the Kind Of Blue JSACD sounds close to the In A Silent Way JSACD it will be a winner, especially in 5.1. I listened to IASW yesterday and it sounds excellent!

I wasn't able to return it to the store because the label, and the discs have different sku numbers So I've been waiting 2 days ( calle them twice btw for it ) for a return USPS label, I would have send it backing using my own money but I want a RA# to along with the cds.. I can see them losing them, and me S.O.L

Last time buy disc via online from BB.

I have on the way:

Brian Wilson - Imagination (MCH DTS/DVD-Audio)
Dave Grusin - Two For The Road - The Music OF Henry Mancini (MCH DTS/DVD-Audio)

And sitting here as the result of some swaps with a member are:

Pat Methany Group - Imaginary Day (MCH DVD-Audio)
The Stan Getz Quartet - Pure Getz (MCH SACD)

Anyone have thoughts on the Jack Johnson vs CD. Saw one review that indicated there was not much improvement, but noticeable tape hiss on the transfer.

Djoel, I saw that you got Head Hunters...you liking it. It is one of my favorite Multichannel mixes. It just seems to work with funky stuff like that and doesn't seem too forced.

The Brian Wilson Imagination disc is a DTS-CD not a DVD-A btw.

If a movie or concert video or a TV show isn't on blu ray it darn well should be.

Man I got say I loved it, it's one of my favorites buys in a long time..I've read a few reviews on Amazon and on SACD.net and I was thinking I was just going to like partial of the four songs but I can say from the first note to the last it was a pure pleasure..

I'll be doing a detail review in a week or two once I get a few more listens when I find myself alone.

Jeff,

Have you had a chance to listen to the Stan Getz SACD? I have it and the music is excellent as is the surround mix. It is a hard SACD to find at a reasonable price but it is worth searching for IMO.

Dan,

I will have to spin my Headhunters RBCD again. For some reason I could not get into it but maybe in surround I will enjoy it more. I will look forward to your review of the SACD when you get the time.

My apologies Venomous for not answering you before, I started yesterday but didn't finish..

Peter Gabriel? I get a news email from B&W music mag I think I saw something but didn't read it..Wasn't sure what they were trying to sell me, I'll check it out though..

Sometime you just need a non bias recommendation, than all this wizardry and flair to get you to try something..When will these marketing folks learn.

Thanks

Bill it's a fun listen in MC for sure, I haven't heard the stereo layer yet so I can't compare..I'll try to compare the two, once I get some badly needed free time

I was not 100% confident in what it was. Still, I like Brian and will enjoy it even if it's not the high resolution I thought it was.

I'll bet that the Grusin title is the same.

I haven't listened to Getz yet, and Methany has only been on my 5.1 system on my main computer ... 'cause I sit in front of it all day. Very nice, but not ...

When I go into my theater, I can't stay away from the sci-fi/action ... tonight was Cowboys & Aliens.
