That's too bad. As the recent BD releases, and the Fragile DVD-A, show, Yes is a prime example of music that should be in MCH.

Man I haven't been keeping up with the Yes releases at all. I have the original Fragile DVD-A and the Audio Fidelity SACD of CTTE. I totally missed the YES album BD. So is the CD included with the CTTE BD the same mix as the SACD? I suspect I already know the answer (especially with this group) but is the CTTE multi-channel mix worth it over the SACD?

Over a stereo SACD? With today's technology, a remixed 5.1 SACD - the only way to get a 5.1 for an album originally released in stereo - should always have better sound quality than a remastered stereo SACD. The few remixed that I know of (by SW) stereo SACD/DVD-A should be of equal sound quality to a 5.1.

Thanks Jeff - I'll likely spring for the CTTE BD even though I've bought that album several times now.

On another positive note I just got an Email saying my Quadrophenia BD shipped. I should have it Tuesday although I occasionally get my Amazon stuff a day early.

Let us know how Quadrophenia sounds!

The two Audio Fidelity compilations, Legends: Crank It Up and Legends: Get It On. I've been wanting more hit compilations on SACD and this fits the bill nicely. Where else can you hear the Zombies in Hi-Rez alongside Elton John and Buffalo Springfield?

Just purchased the RUSH Presto SACD. I am going to be a sucker for any RUSH Hi Rez releases I think....

If you like Rush there are a few on E-bay, 2112 Moving Pictures even a box set and all in dvd audio. I'm also a huge Rush fan I also picked them up on ebay a farewell to kings, Fly by night, signals, Moving pictures, 2112 all 5.1. Love the song Time Stand Still.

Bought Moving Pictures and 2112 DVDA when they came out. Have Counterparts and Hemispheres SACDs.... Was not aware of the other 5.1 offerings.... Have to go have a look.

Myself I only buy Dvd audio & DTS because there always 5.1 and you have a choice not to use a dvd audio player. All my hi Rez is on a harddrive so i'm able to select the music I like.

Blu-ray high fidelity 5.1 has the potential to rule the market because the quality is there and the pricing is reasonable, but there having problems pushing new material. I can't wait till they release Supertramp Crime Of The Century that is suppose to be released in Oct.

If they didn't go MCH with Breakfast in America, it's unlikely they'll do it with Crime.

Yes I hear you but my fingers are crossed. Just imagine how sweet that would be in 5.1...total Ear Candy

I think it has already been announced as a stereo remaster. I welcome releases with better sound quality, but I detest plucking the low hanging fruit represented by remastering the original stereo mix. It is a waste of lossless high resolution formats.

Following on from our Rush discussion... I ordered the Sector 2 box set yesterday from Amazon UK. Primarily for the surround sound version of 'A Farewell to Kings'

I'm not entirely sure.

According to Amazon UK and USA the surround sound version is listed as being on a DVD. But whether this is actually DVD-A disc I dunno...

Hopefully I'll be able to find out tomorrow exactly which surround sound audio formats are available.
pepar's Avatar pepar 12:24 PM 07-07-2014
AFTK is available on DVD-Audio 5.1.

Beck - Sea Change (Blu-Ray Audio)

Listened to the 5.1 channel DTS-HD version so far. Well done. Nice use of the surrounds. Will try the 2.0 channel next...

Yes, I'm happy to confirm that the 'A Farewell To Kings' part of the boxed-set contains a 'CD audio' disc and a 'DVD-Audio' disc complete with 6Ch 96KHz/24-bit.mpl files...

EDIT: It's now backed-up and stored on my NAS as a continuous .mpl file and as a continuous .flac file complete with .cue sheets
