Attention Allman Brothers fans (and I apologize if this has already been mentioned):

One of the best live albums of all time is about to get considerably better. The Allman Brothers Band's cornerstone LP, At Fillmore East, compiled from the four sets recorded on the weekend of March 12-13, 1971, has been expanded, stretching over 3 Audio Blu-Ray with fifteen unreleased tracks. Additionally, The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings contains the complete June 27 performance during the iconic venue-s final weekend, after the band was handpicked by impresario Bill Graham to headline closing night. The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings captures the most inspired improvisational rock unit ever at the peak of their prodigious powers, blazing their way through extended instrumental elaborations, so taut and virtuosic, that the crowds that packed the Fillmore East on those memorable nights were utterly transfixed. When it came to live performance, no other band could touch the Allmans.

'The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings' is compiled together in Blu-Ray, CD and LP formats; including 37 tracks, 15 previously unreleased. The Blu-Ray audio comes in 5.1 surround sound, allowing the listener to hear each individual musician with immense precision and depth like never before.

Hmmm....

$85.00 plus shipping for three Blu-ray audio disc's is a bit steep don't you think? That equates to over $28.33 each!

I absolutely think the price is pretty steep, but I would expect the price to eventually drop a bit. The price is currently even higher on Amazon.

Bull Moose is the place to buy the Fillmore East Recordings Blu-Ray. The cost is $73.97 shipped (plus tax). I have a Bull Moose store a short distance away in NH (tax free ) and I'll be picking up my copy there. This is one of the best local indie record stores in New England and the staff at every store I've been to are outstanding!

Couldn't agree more. This may be the best surround disc I've ever heard.

It'll be the remastered studio version HFPA, with the scooter on the cover...

If a movie or concert video or a TV show isn't on blu ray it darn well should be.

I am disappointed that my preorder for Supertramp - Crime of the Century was cancelled because the label apparently isn't going to release this anymore on Pure Audio Blu-ray. Does this mean Universal is backing out of this series? I sure hope not...

That I'm not sure. If it was it would have been quad I guess. I just bought the Quadrophenia bluray today so I'm hoping to listen to it as soon as I have the time.

After a long long looong waiting, finally I can listen to my fave album of all time, in all of its 96/24 hi def glory: Heaven Or Las Vegas from Cocteau Twins!!!

All detail it's there, Elizabeth Fraser's voice is crystal clear (even still unintelligible for me), guitars are amazing.

I can confirm that it's a new remaster (not the recent loudness version from Mr. Guthrie). Highly recommended!!

Thank you 4AD, you put a simile on my face!

This is a MUST HAVE disc if you have a surround system! Mine arrived last week and it's being played every day. Great mix with great dynamic range and fidelity:

http://www.quadraphonicquad.com/foru...)-BluRay-Audio

Dynamic Range on the 2014 5.1 BDA release is DR14. On the 2013 HFPA stereo it's 7.
