Bought it a while back but listened to Porcupine Tree Stupid Dream last night for the first time in 5.1 and WOW, I was blown away all around! Incredible recording/mix! What other PT 5.1 mixes sound this good? Was thinking of checking out Lightbulb Sun and Fear of a Blank Planet next....

EDIT: Looks like Lightbulb Sun is only available as an import from Japan (on Amazon at least) so was just wondering if this will play on my region A Oppo?

JVC 3D: Been there, done that, bought a DLP

You might want to have a listen to "Deadwing" or "In Absentia" too. Both come highly-recommended.
You might want to pay a visit to quadrophonicquad.com and check out their listener polls. It is a pretty active surround music community over there.

Display: Panasonic P60UT50 (Plasma)
Speakers: (4) Monitor Audio Silver 9i (Front and Surround), (1) Monitor Audio Silver 12i (Center), (4) Monitor Audio Silver 4i (Rear and Wide), (2) Aperion Audio Bravus II 8d (Subwoofers)
Receiver: Pioneer Elite SC-87 AVR (9.2)
Sources: Oppo BDP-103, Roku 3, Cable...

Cool! Thanks for the recommendations. QQ is what led me to Stupid Dream and the other two albums I want to track down, but will put Deadwing and In Absentia on the buy list as well.

If anyone knows of a good place to grab any of these Porcupine Tree DVD-A discs for a good price I would appreciate a heads up!

Reluctantly downloaded the native DSD version of Tea For The Tillerman after a recommendation from a good guy on the QQ forum.
I say reluctantly because I had already bought the SACD on release day.
I didn't think that the SACD being sourced from a PCM master instead of a native DSD master would matter.
It still may not, but after A/B via HD between the 2, the download is better and really what I initially expected the SACD to be.
I was actually a bit disappointed in the SACD when I got it and felt it offered some improvement over the original CD I had but it was not a revelation.
I chocked it up to the recording itself even though TFTT has been an audiophile fav since it's original vinyl release

Oh well, YMMV, but if you have to have the best digital version of TFTT, the download is it, imo.

It ain't ignorance causes so much trouble; it's folks knowing so much that ain't so

Bought this when it was released on DVD-A. Great disc. Would appreciate your impression once you have given it a couple of listens. Thanks.

LOL!

It took me awhile to figure out what the CTA is supposed to mean but I'm pretty sure it is "Chicago Transit Authority"

IRWTPWSUASM! (I really wish that people would stop using acronyms so much!)
