That's a nice Marantz set-up there. I've played around with that SACD/CD player at BestBuy/Magnolia a while back. What speakers are you using? Bowers & Wilkins?
Marantz??? Suggest you look at that pic again.

Don't forget, Riding with the King is also available on DVD-A (5.1). You should be able to find a good used copy at a reasonable price.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Been there done that . The AV8002A is a very nice prepro and one I've looked at more than once.

Just bought:

Rolling Stones - Sweet Summer Sun/Hyde Park Live (2 DVD, Blu-ray and 2 CD) sealed from eBay for $19.99 shipped (cut through barcode). For my daughter as she's a HUGE Stones fan !

Concerning Eric Clapton/B.B King: Riding With The King.

I was suggesting the DVD-Audio as it's in 5.1. The Audio Fidelity disc would be stereo. Everything sounds better in surround (IMO)

There're probably about the same price with the DVD-Audio being used vs. the AF being new.

Recently purchased Madeline Peyroux Secular Hymns from HD Tracks 96/24 flac. From a review on iTunes:

Quote:
Recorded at the Parish Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, England, Madeleine Peyroux's eighth studio album, 2016's Secular Hymns, finds the vocalist/guitarist delivering a stripped-down, largely acoustic set of warm, eclectic cover tunes. Backing Peyroux this time out are guitarist/vocalist Jon Herington and bassist/vocalist Barak Mori, both highly sought-after New York-based musicians with deep jazz, blues, and rock credits. While technically a studio album, Secular Hymns was recorded as if a live concert, a choice inspired by Peyroux's 2015 performance at the venue.
From HD Tracks:

Quote:
Peyroux set out to record a collection of songs with their own hymn-like stories of self-awareness & inner dialogue, a communal consciousness & a spiritual essence. Here, Madeleine intimately renders tunes by seminal blues artists like Willie Dixon & Lil Green, gospel singer Sister Rosetta Tharpe, dub star Linton Kwesi Johnson, 3 renowned American composers (Tom Waits, Townes Van Zandt, Allen Toussaint), 19th century composer Stephen Foster & ending with a traditional African-American Spiritual.
I've always been a fan of hers. This is her best effort yet.

Ok, gotcha. I'll probably stick to the SACD as I prefer 2-channel.

The surround mixes are "remixed" from the original studio multitrack masters. My experience is that the sound quality of the STEREO downmix of the 5.1 (by my AVR) is better than the almost always "only" remastered stereo mix on the disc. SW's recent remixed STEREO (from the original studio multitrack masters) is the exception.

Just sayin'

About a year ago I began upgrading my iTunes library with hi-res sourced albums. Initially I simply used the stereo mix on the SACD, but then discovered what I wrote above. I used a downmixing plugin for foobar2000, but there was no question about the difference.
