Same Price: BIC H-100 or Klipsch Synergy Sub-12 - AVS Forum

Hello Guys,

I have been reading the forum for a while now and it has helped me so much in my first home theater purchase. This is my first post because I could not seem to find a direct comparison by searching.

I can get the Klipsch Synergy Sub-12 for about the same price as the BIC H-100. The H-100 gets great reviews on the forum, but most are in reference to its $250 price range. If i can get the Klipsch Sub-12 for around that price, would that be a better sub for the money? I will be using it for music and movies regularly. Hopefully someone out there can share their experience with both.

klipsch has more power (by twice) and a larger port... hard to call it the loser, but i wouldn't really know. Never seen the BIC, it looks like a strong sub too. Sub-12 was in fact designed by Deon Bearden, i trust his designs over anyone, and i'm not even a klipsch fan really ,lol.

:P prolly cant go wrong either way.

i have an h100. at first i wasnt too impressed. but once i played with the settings and placement of the sub i was blown away. i was coming from a crappy htib, but still, its mre then i expected. makes my whole house shake.

im happy with it, you would be too i bet. but im sure either way will put a smile on your face.

thanks jvgillow. Is the klipsch just stronger due to the higher power and therefore higher spl? Is it as clean as the H-100?

The Klipsch sub-12 is a very good subwoofer. A friend of mine has
one, and it sounds great. The H-100 by BIC is an entry level sub
IMO, and is suited for people who want fairly decent sound from a
sub, but don't want/or can't spend alot of money.

At $250 getting the Klipsch SUB-12 is a great deal....highly

The Sub-12 will play louder, hit harder, and is tuned slightly lower than the H-100. It is quite clean if you run it within its limits and don't push it too hard.
