I have a Great Gramma under each sub but I'm at work now so I'll post the pics later tonight. Love these old threads!

As promised…

B&W PCS8's, which also doubles as the stands for the left and right channels.

Got SVS PB 1000 recently and this is how I have placed at the moment. Please suggest if placing the card boards on top & bottom of the subwoofer (which came along with the packing) would seriously affect the quality of the woofer?

I think a subwoofer of that Caliber should be placed With both feet on the ground, and yes I think it would affect the performance

Thanks johnny. Will remove the bottom and keep it grounded. Hope the top can remain as it helps to slightly keep me place clean by placing my blu ray player on top of it

It will not effect the performance of the sub. Why do you want them on there?

Please find updated pic. I have removed the below one and instead had a carpet placed. Top I have kept a little.

Johnny, your FR graph looks awesome. Really nice work! A little bit of ringing below 20hz but certainly no ones going to give you a hard time about that!
How much smoothing bit you apply to that graph?

Nice! First time that I have seen those ps18x subs in pictures. You have the amp on the back turn up 75% of max! What is your avr sub trim at?

Hey, yea I was a little concerned about that but Jeremy said that is okay with this type of amplifier. After I ran MCACC it set the sub trim to -11 but I had to turn it up to -6. Does something not seem right here?

Thx!

No your fine. Clipping the signal is worse and you are no where close to it. Those amps are great because you can't really clip the output. Basically, you can't send square waves to the driver.

@jbrown15, thanks there was no smoothing applying to these graphs, I get the same question in my local forum so I went to the .mdat file just to verify that its the real deal. I`m lucky With the room and by lifting the drivers in the XTZ Construction really made a great impact, my dual SVS SB-13 didn`t came Close to this response.

Just to be Clear I`m using a Antimode 8033 and Audyssey XT32 on these graph (Marantz 8801)

My dual SVS-SB 13 last only a year, I think I`m the only one on the planet not happy With these. My XTZ would last a whole lot longer.

jbrown15, arsMatrix and cchunter like this.

I've got some bass shakers behind the sofa.....

Capable of.... ya, it can go pretty loud hahaha.... 8 x FTW 21's, 4 x UXL 18's, 2 x G-Horns and 2 x JTR 215RT's. All fed with 3000 watts per driver. It's a ton of fun, reference run with 0 distortion and subs running around 20-30% each.

Blasting brown notes for 10 years and counting!
