I've been contemplating replacing my puny little PB12 Plus/2 with one of the new "Big Dogs" in the game (ED A7-900 or Epik Conquest) The problem is I would like to see some real world pictures of these beasts in people's actual rooms. The mfg. specific threads for the things stretch up into the hundreds of pages and take hours to wade through. Google only offers a few boring pictures.

So let's have a place to post pictures of your subs in their natural environment.

let em rip!

Not really a "real" picture but I was wondering about the same. I have an SVS BP12/2 and have a BP13 Ultra on the way. I was wondering about the others so I made up a little Google Sketch Up model of some of the more popular models so I could see how they relate in scale.
Here is the model link (You will obviously need Google Sketch Up):

Here are some pics of my two off-the-peg subs , which are M-Design Bellas. I use them as "broadband" (in Dr. Geddes' terminology) subs to smooth out room response. I bought them because I liked the looks, and because their drivers are by Aura with their excellent underhung neo-radial motor.

Sub #1, on the wall next to my left speaker. The wall angles away at the end of the cabinet, into a hallway.

Same sub, no grille. It looks better with the grille. Note the signature pointy dustcap on the driver. I will be plugging that port, because I'm more concerned about using these to smooth response from 40-160Hz than in achieving ultimate extension. (Ultimate extension is what the big, corner-loaded 33mm x-max 18 powered by a 2kW amp is for!)

Sub #2 in position, with furball in the bottom left corner. Driver is about 42" from the wall behind it.

Of course, being the incorrigible geek that I am, I had to take one apart before setting them up or even listening to them at all beyond a quick check to see that they work! Here's the driver, an Aura NS12-794-4A as I expected. The trim ring is either sheet metal or aluminum, and is actually riveted or screwed onto the basket. (I did not attempt to remove it.)

(Beautiful, no?)

I just got these, and haven't had time to refine placement, or even to listen to them at all beyond a quick once-over with an iPod and a y-cable to make sure they function. Measurements of the complete system will surely follow soon, as I complete that process.

I don't have a pic of my main subwoofer, but it's not germane to this forum anyway. Besides, it is not nearly as pretty: just a corner-loaded Exodus Audio Maelstrom-X in a 100L sealed cube by eD in their Odye finish, powered by a Crown XTi2000.

That thing is amazing. It stopped most of the little rattles around the room and makes the sub sound tighter. Well worth the money.

Here's mine. The MFW-15 is one awesome sub for the money. Before I had a Klipsch KSW12 or 15 and the MFW blows the Klipsch away in every category.

Tsk, tsk. Why? It is an outstanding subwoofer. Personally, I love it. Have you ever heard an RSW15? I'm not much for "lists" that people put together, but it is as high as it is on Nousaine's list for a reason. I would not trade it for your 2 subs. But you might trade them for mine.

And I do not think that bashing subs is going to be appropriate for this thread. It could get pretty damned ugly. So, please, resist replying.

Me, resist replying ? Please. Do you still want me to clean your house for you ? Methinks it would be a bad idea. Sorry sivadselim, you are such an easy target. I think I will stop making fun of you from now on.

Grow up. Sheesh man. If you wanted to have a sub bashing contest, trust me, a lot of people will leave you in the dust here.

I mean... what if I said,

"I see you own MFW-15 sub. My condolences."

How exactly do you go about interpreting humor there. Assuming you have an explanation, do you actually expect the rest of us to understand?

goneten has a bit of a unique sense of humor and online style. It is tough to get a handle on at times. He even had me, there. He realizes some defensiveness on my part regarding my sub, so he goads me a bit. But goading is not really the right word, here. You see, I could say "f@ck you goneten!" and he would understand.

Are you implying that you don't remember if it was a 12" or 15", or are you saying that you swapped out one for the other in your room?

I have no doubt that an IB will lay waste to my measly MFW-15's. If you do a little search you will understand that I am a huge proponent of IB systems. I fully acknowledge their superiority.

Here are my 2 subs next to each other. Paradigm PW2200 & MFW-15. They both sound good, the MFW is more sensitive to placement than the other.
