Help wiring for an in-wall sub. Can I use the speakers B output to wire an in-wall passive sub? The receiver I am using has the 7.1 speaker outputs, and an LFE which the in wall sub does not have. What is the best way to wire the in wall sub? I have the diagrams from the manufacture how to wire the at the sub woofer but it does not tell me where to wire to at the AV receiver.
Connect the LFE output of the receiver to an external amp using a shielded RCA cable. Then connect the external amp to the subwoofer via speaker cable. If you are running the speaker cable inside the wall, make sure it is CL3 rated.
What sized amp are you looking to use? In the DIY section, we have discussed sub amps ranging from 50w to 4,000w.
Is there any reason I could not use a dayton SA amp and just not mount it to anything or just bolt it to the inside of my AV cabinet - run the LFE from my AV receiver to the dayton amp then run the speaker wire to the passive sub?
