Here's something I came up with last week a rather simple way of keeping smelling fresher!

Place or take an air freshener and place it inside the sub bass speaker enclosure this will allow a breath of wonderful fragrance to wash over you every time the sub goes down deep in the lower frequencies as the air is being pushed out though the port hole.

The ironside flip in transformers flushed out a wondrous fresh smell at regulated low deep levels. I haven't tried spot frequency to see where the exact point it starts pushing air out, I guessing below 50Hz descending downwards

So if your smoker this may keep your sub and room smelling fresh!

Just took this updated picture I cut two triangle holes on the back to allow more air to move around it and then blow it out though ports.

I think I have the only fresh smelling sub on this site! Yeah can you push out the fragrance with Transformers and transform your room into smelling better!

Might try deep sub bass moment on “Flight of the Fragrance”! LOL the point where the airplane rolls around with the passengers screaming there heads off!

Cute idea, JBL but I personally hate those frangrance thingies. I'd get a headache everytime I watch a bass heavy movie. Although very creative, for me, this would be a terrible upgrade. Heheh.

A member on the JBL Lansing site suggested a candle placed in-front of the port. Damn good idea! Now why didn't I think of that?

I'm having a whale of fun and laughter with this besides taking the piss out of movie dialogue and placing fragrance its place.

I'm trying out Disney's The Black Hole (1979) to see if I can't get sucked into the fragrance! LMAO!LOL

LMAO I like the line in The Black Hole chapter 5 48m:02s nothing strange about that. It purifies the air oh that's damn funny.

Just finished beef curry rice and chips yummy tummy yummy only £1.39 its meal fit for King. y Kitten was taking little interest at the time. If let it eat any of that curry it will on the litter tray all night!!!! LOL

At 76m:08 where the power reactor on the Cygnus overpowers itself with an explosion I saw slight waving of the flame neat I like it.

77m: 41s as the U.S.S. Cygnus slowly gets pulled into The Black Hole a slight bit of movement on the flame this is cool.

From the outside the port to the centre of flame or candle is 3 and the sound pressure was mild.

I might try a new thread in the morning its flipping far too late now to playing deep lows. I'll see if I can't hammer out a new title, to see which film (LFE.1 content track) only or aka Baby Boom I wonder if Iron Man as the muscle to blow the flame out?

Well its gets warm bed every night feed every day played with everyday washed regularly so it smells clean flea kit to keep undesirable buggers off it, it gets wormed and wow did I see large worm this morning looks like the worming is doing the trick!

Don’t tell me, sivadselim “But I feel so sorry for your poor kitty.” it gets a damn sight lot more looked after than most!

Its got a warm bed every night feed every day played with everyday washed regularly so it smells clean flea kit to keep undesirable buggers off it, it gets wormed and wow did I see large worm this morning looks like the worming is doing the trick!

Plus it’s very fierce maybe I should set-it onto you! Might lose finger or two! A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kitten too.

“According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the heaviest cat on record was Himmy, an Australian cat, who weighed 46 pounds, 15.25 ounces in 1986. Himmy's waist was 33 inches! Found this link and quote here from the link.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...2221716AAhZnTO

"Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

At the lower-pitched sounds, there is little difference between humans and cats (and dogs). At the higher sounds, humans can hear up to approximately 20,000 cycles per second. Dogs can hear sounds of frequencies of up to 35,000 to 45,000 cycles. Cats can hear sounds of an amazingly high pitch -- sounds up to 100,000 cycles per second!

Interestingly, the highest pitched squeak that a mouse can make is approximately the same frequency -- 100,000 cycles per second. That is no coincidence. Cats' hearing evolved to enable them to be better hunters. Cats hunt by lurking in ambush and listening very closely for the slightest squeak or rustle of their prey. Their incredibly sensitive hearing allows them to be very effective at this task.

The hearing ability of a cat does decrease with age. But younger cats can not only hear a wide range of sounds, but they are also able to detect the precise direction of a sound. They can distinguish between two sounds that are only 18 inches apart at a distance of 60 feet. They can also easily tell the difference between two sounds from the same direction but a different distances.

Clearly, our cats can outperform us when it comes to hearing abilities!

Funny but :

1) Would that not bounce around in there like mad and possibly damage the woofer ?

2) Would it not change the air volume inside the tuned cabinet ?

I know , I know ... don't encourage .

Nice to see someone with a sense of humor on this site though...I like it!

Your tv does seem a bit outclassed by your audio section...

I am no longer able to watch a movie. I am monitoring a video display with regards to chroma, brightness, contrast and correct pulldown.

Well that’s no good is it we can’t have sweaty smelly subs around here can we. It does work. It’s kinder of effective like that smell-o-vision [IronSide doing the flip now] [scratch card now!] LOL

I could see how well Iron Man smells in the morning I mean it must be really sweaty underneath that suit?

Now that you happened to mention it I think I’ll go on quest for the ultimate sub bass fragrance the one I brought is an ASDA job I think they where three for £2.00 pounds I have three of them but I’m only using one at time although I could maximise it with two.

I guess the only way to determine if there is change is to run a few frequency sweeps of REW but I’d have to say with all honesty no degradation in the quality not with one tiny item I mean that would be like sticking a fly inside it “help me” and saying does it change the frequency “help me, no go away”.

I might buy 20 or so of those car hang up fragrance fresheners and place them in front of the ports of my JBL surround arrays to get total uniform fragrance without the diffusion effect of course. Well almost.

Well that's got me think I can seal the sub and I have another sub but the port faces in different direction in relation to where the sub bass driver is facing.

I guess a certain frequency will but a simple candle flame out as to what frequency I haven't a clue (it's a case of trail and error). Did anyone or has anyone seen the Ping-Pong ball floating on an air of sound-waves in transparent box that NASA was conducting its on youtube somewhere and that was quite impressive, yet think of the amount of ear bending defang sound pressure it was generating inside that box!

The simplest way is to run though sine-waves to see what tones disturb the candle flame with my sub as all subs are different and see which ones will be enough to blow the flame out.

(Come JBL 4645 make a wish and blow the candle out)
I wish you didn't play me so loud

I’ve done some tests and from what I’ve determined is? It’s the amount of sound pressure in the lows below 50Hz for, myself and I’m no where near what the SPL db level was when watching Flight of Phoenix which had random frequencies and different levels that knocked the candle flame out.

If it was placed further its going to take an enormous amount and I’m guessing several feet and you’ll need ear protection because it would be hazardous to your hearing so don’t try it. a few inches away is safe enough.

Outside where the air is uniform and would no doubt blow flame out a few inches away is more pratitcal unless you had a silly amount of sub or when I blow at 11 feet distance to the flame.

I blow as hard as I can and it took 7 seconds until the flame moved, now then.

Tried again and this time it was around 6 seconds!

Blowing on my hand a close range the air seems to be narrow move it back furather it has widened and is more uniform over my hand. So the air must have winded the only way to tell is to light a few more candles and space them out be few feet and try it. Thou I’m positively confident it will disturb the candle flame.

Whew, I’m out of breath now LOL.

That's a great idea if you don't have asthma and react to those perfumes. If you ever want to sell your sub and someone doesn't like the smell (or has asthma) it could also be a problem.

Well they’ll have to get it laundry cleaned won’t they? I’m allergic to fibreglass due to me long term skin condition I can’t stand the smell of fibreglass ether.

I’ve used an inhaler for several years after was mucking around with that stuff my dad doesn’t have issues with it.
