Have my PC12NSD for about 4 months now. This is my first HT setup. The sub is truly awesome for both movies and music.

It's time to resurrect this thread. I'm getting the PC12-NSD in 2 weeks. I have an 1100 cubic foot room in a trailer, it may make the walls come down but oh well.

Songs I'll test it with...

Bass Mekanik - 808 Tune Up
Young Jeezy - I Put On
The Pack - I'm Shinin (This will probably be )

Movies on Blu-Ray

Live Free or Die Hard
Terminator 2/Salvation
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
War of the Worlds

I'll update when I actually get my sub.

I just bought the Denon AVR-790, I haven't received it yet. I will have Mirage OMD-5s for my fronts and surrounds, and a OMD-C1 center. So far, I have bought 2 OMD-5s and the receiver, I will buy everything else when I get my income tax check.

Alright, looks like my home theater will be complete next Thursday! I have the Denon AVR-790 and 2 OMD-5s right now. I just got my income tax and I ordered everything else today. I'm hoping the PC12-NSD will ship today because I ordered it at about 6:00 a.m. in the morning. I have 1 OMD-5 coming Monday, another on Tuesday, and the OMD-C1 coming on Thursday. I'm guessing my sub will be here Tuesday, as they are shipping from Ohio and I'm from New Jersey. I can't wait to get everything hooked up.

I currnetly have a DSP PC-12NSD hooked up to Onkyo 607. Fronts are epos ELS303, center is a Dali Vokal 2 Mk2 and the surrounds are epos ELS3. Running 5.1 with bi-amp front.
Thinking of a second PC12 but only the bash amp older version is available.
Will there be any significant change in sound signature and phase issues?

U'd have to ask SVS about that As I don't really know . but i can say the 2nd really made a difference as the bass response is smooth as silk
SVS told me that 2 NSD's out shine a single Ultra

Hi
I'm just about to order the pc12nsd-dsp - but there is a 6 week wait before they have it in stock - and my local sub guy is trying to sell me an Epik Legend Is it possible to get a little support in here?

And I've heard great things about the pc12nsd - but has anybody heard it with the new Sledge-amp - do you know how it compares to the bash-amp?

No waste, grab a bar, get saw on.

the Sledge is better amp than the Bash & the Bash was a really Good to boot AnyWay !!! .
WAIT & get SVS you will very happy you did . Your getting a better Sub by a long shot Big Time .. the Legend does down to 20Hz and the SVS will do 12 Hz it rolls off @ 18

Best is the tuned port of the cylinder sub they just do bass way better than the boxes by everyway
& the epic is not even ported

I've been very close to pulling the trigger on a PC-12 NSD with the sledge amp. Every time I go to order I pause, and then don't go through with it.

I've got a basement home theatre, which I've slowly upgraded over the last few years. Epson 1080UB, Denon 2809, B&W CDM 7NT and CNT, Axiom QS8.

The last unupgraded piece is my sub. I'm using a Acoustic Profiles 10" sub that was part of my 5.1 set, before upgrading. It works, but is far from a "good" sub.

My reason for holding off is when I hear people saying their SVS rattles dishes, etc etc etc. While I like it loud, I also have no interest in disturbing my 20 month old sleeping on the second floor. Or my wife while I'm playing video games and she's in the living room, one floor up. At moderate listening levels, am I going to be disturbing the entire house with one of these, or is it only when it's cranked up to reference levels that it's a house shaker? I'd like improved bass, not something that's going to constantly get me asked to turn the volume down. Any input?

Thanks,
Tyler

Well it depends, the word "moderate" is completely relative. If by "moderate" you mean comfortable listening levels to the point you can still have a conversation in the same room then no you wont rattle dishes however you will still (depending on sound isolation) hear/feel the rumble one floor above.

I completely agree that is why I stated it all depends on his efforts regarding sound isolation/sound insulation. If he has done some of these things then it will surely help but if he hasnt and just has a basement with a drop ceiling or a drywalled one that has no insulation and if he has no bass traps or plans for any then he will have "some" issues.

Acoustic treatment will change the sound quality within that room; it won't prevent sound propagation between rooms - sound leakage is reduced through construction.

If you can't isolate your room then turn down the bass during those sessions when you don't want to disturb others.

I just ordered my PC12 NSD DSP yesterday. can't wait for it's arrival. based on what others have told me, I'm lookin at ordering the Auralex SubDude HD to put the sub on. it reduces secondary resonance from items in your room by reducing shaking of objects. in short, it helps keep the bass going through the air and not the floor

mine will be hooked up to an onkyo 806 receiver and paired with polk cs2 center channel, Polk monitor 70 fronts, Polk monitor 40 rear surrounds and some older JBL wallmounted rear backs.

I can't wait to crank some BR movies like dark knight and let that hd audio flow through the 7.1 with this new sub

...unless your "box" is a DIY folded-horn sub (THT) which takes HT & music bass to a whole new level.

Former PC12 owner and I do appreciate what a fine cylinder sub SVS is making. But all subs have compromises & limitations.

Thanks for the input. I've got no opportunity for additional sound isolation. The basement was finished when we bought the house.

I did end up pulling the trigger on the PC12-NSD. I've got 45 days to give it a go. Hopefully it won't piss off my wife too much. I'll (hopefully not too often) turn it down if I have to.

Nice to hear from happy cylinder owners. I am still mulling over a few options but I noticed SVS is backordering the Sledge 800D subs--so that has got me thinking about the PC13-Ultra.

mine gets delivered today, I'm working from home tomorrow, so it'll get setup/tested

SubDude hasn't shipped yet, so I'll get to see it both ways, by given that my old sub rattled wine glasses the other day, I have to imagine the SubDude will be needed

also got SpeakerDude for my center channel...mostly to angle it up a bit

subdude arrived the day after the sub

tested it with Incredible Hulk on BR....AWESOME!!

you can feel the bass in your chest, but yet nothing rattled in the room
definitely recommend BOTH the sub and the subdude
