Perhaps theres a better "musical" sub in the 200-270 range, but I couldnt think of much of a sub in this price range that will match the sheer overall output of the pl-200. It sounds just fine for me with music.

Rap songs make my entire living room and the windows shake pretty good

I listen to music probably 80% of the time.

It would probably be a tighter sub for music, how much, I dont know. But the pl-200 would dig deeper and hit harder.

Sealed subs are best for music.

Just had a FedEx false alarm, which I guess the FedEx box should have been enough to tell me it was. Big box, right weight, about 50lbs... open it up expecting a sub... and it's not a sub. I forgot I ordered a 6ft bean bag chair about a month ago Oh well, only a few more days. At least now I have a comfy chair to enjoy my sub from. Filled with flakes of memory foam, very soft and supportive. Might even sleep in it tonight, since it nearly swallows me whole.

pretty big. 30 x15x12 opens to kitchen, hallway, 3 bedrooms, and a bathroom. Not an ideal subwoofer territory , that's for sure. cant imagine how hard it'd hit in a small closed room

Wow, Im shocked that the bass seems so strong yet so much open space.. But thats great.. How do you think PL-200 compares to the F-12?

id imagine it hits harder and deeper based on specs. if it were me id get pl200>f12 since its less then 100 bucks more. that way youll never have to wonder if you should have bought pl200 in the 1st place

True thats only reason every time I think about it I always end up leaning towards the PL-200... But then what comes to mind does the PL-200 actually sound that much difference to justify the $100

Didn't dacdd say it would? Since you are leaning towards the PL-200, and have been for a few days now, just get it man. The sooner you stop giving yourself a tumor stressing about it the sooner you can have a nice sub in your room. Make a concerted effort today to order a sub. We'll all be relieved and proud that you did.

It has a longer warranty and has better fit and finish in case you can't hide it in the room it will stay in.

Another vote for order now! You sound like you are thinking WAY too hard about the choice, and that is coming from someone who waited 4 months and did research on all options. Just do it, you won't be sorry.

Sam, are you writing a book on forum responses? I have never seen someone ask so many questions, in multiple forums, about things that have already been answered numerous times. Buy a damn sub already and then post your comments.

I must say I like it, but I'm sitting right next to it right now so it's a bit overpowering and the back is facing me (monoprice 15ft cable comes tomorrow).

So I've been listening to it nonstop since this afternoon. First impressions:

ooooohhh aaaaahhhh this bastard is huge
Had to read the manual for setup since labels on back are weird:
-switch on/off/auto (easy)
-switch for crossover (easy)
-switch says crossover out/in (wtf?) means using sub in or speaker level ins, if rca sub in is your desire, set this to OUT so your receiver does the crossover and to bypass the drossover knob on the backwork

Volume knob goes from 7:30 to 4:30 clockwise, I'm at 10:30 and it's perfect. Crossover is set to 90hz for now but will take some time for me to make up my mind. I've been listening to pop, funk, hip-hop, and am on jazz now and it's just clean clean clean. I almost wish the volume knob were huge for finer adjustment since I prefer amp volume to receiver tweaks.

I'm used to a similar setup at my parent's house but a 125 watt 10" KLH sub that held it's own as well. This could beat the pants of that thing with a much better port design I'd day chuffing is nearly impossible on the PL-200 and at the levels I listen to on weekdays&weeknights it's still hits the right notes at reduced volume (impossible on the KLH). I really am happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend this sub.

This weekend I'll push it a bit after I warn the neighbors and report back.

Good review!!! When listing to hip hop and other music does the bass really hit or does it sound kind of weak? when you say it sounds clean do you feel **** shacking.. kind of like when your in a car with a bad ass system?

This dances the fence of sealed sound and ported sound. It's just plain accurate and yes it will shake the crap out of things. My room is 13x19x8 with one door. My room is also concrete floor and a 14' industrial window on the long wall so it's not too sound friendly and with some acoustic panels it would be cleaner with less reverb.

I kinda do think it'd be better paired with some full-size front speakers though for some reason. Maybe it'll loosen up after some break-in.

Good, you asked too many questions... Seriously though, good choice. I'll give you my impression tomorrow when it should arrive around noon.

Late on the 25th, so it went through on the 26th first thing in the morning. Was scanned into UPS system by lunch time. Very quick processing.

It doesn't compare to it at all.
I have the Z-5500 for my PC speakers. And they are like kids toys in comparison to the H-100. The Z-5500 does not even sound like there is any bass at all in comparison. And I only have my H-100 at 9'0 clock.
It just does not have a chance against the PL-200

While that sub is good, it goes nowhere near as low as the PL-200 and is way more punchy than sustained bass. Also, make an offer on the ebay site of sound distributors and they'll accept $275.

After sleeping and waking up, having this new sub almost feels like cheating... it's just too effortless.
