Looking into a new sub. My dealer can get me a good deal on the Velodyne with the trade in of my current sub. Or I can get the Klipsch sub 10 for about the same Price.

I listen to about 20% music and 80% movies/games

Let me know what the differences would be, I've never heard a velodyne sub but have heard good things. I like the klipsch sub for Home Theater but it lacks for music. Thanks.

Impact 12, they put the klipsch subs to shame. Plus this specific klipsch mode has major quality control issues with the amps just randomly dying. Google it and you will find out why to avoid it.

well apparently these are the replacement models for what circuit city used to carry. Has anyone actually heard these subs? Otherwise, what would be the least expensive upgrade from velodyne.

I have heard the impact 12-
My thoughts on it during brief listening were that's a pretty decent sub, fairly tight, and not bad for a medium to smallish room. The downfalls for me were it's black ash looking cabinet. Also, I think bass extension as quoted as higher than what it actually is, but I haven't tested it. I like the glossy that velo normally has. Not that powerful. I've heard the sub10 too, and I concur, I like the impact better.

Be careful of the amp problems that the Sub-10 have had.

well i returned the klipsch and got the impact. I'm wishing I hadn't done that though, the impact doesn't reach the same levels my klipsch did.
