Does anybody know of a good wireless solution for connecting a subwoofer? I got a great compact subwoofer but the wife has gone ballistic on the aesthetics. I have to move the subwoofer to the opposite side of the room.

I have been shocked at how little there seems to be readily available as a solution.

The butkicker RF kit is not good for this application by the companies own admission. It is subject to interference and the signal is not clean enough.

Rocketfish has a transciever but it is geared for speaker level inputs and has a Rx with an amp.

Audioengine has an over priced wireless solution. It is $149 for tx and rx usb powered dongles.

Any other suggestions?

The other concern is latency. For example, the Audioengine transceiver lists a latency of 20ms. This translates to an equivalent distance of an extra 22.5 feet. Will this screw up the Audyssey calibration attempted by my AV receiver.

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Audyssey will compensate for the delay ... you will just end up with an unusually long distance shown to the subwoofer. As long as you leave the calculated distance alone, all should be fine.

I have used the AudioEngine device with a subwoofer and with Audyssey just fine.

If you have very little RF in your home, how about these: http://www.amazon.com/Terk-LFDAS-Dig...5019907&sr=8-3

Thanks for the input.

It seems like the audioengine is the only one with decent reviews. I wish they discounted the product some.

Those that just recently purchased for subwoofer use, results? I'm thinking about doing picking up the audioengine unit myself to move my subwoofer to a more convenient location.

Got one of these based on Kal's recommendation. It works great and introduces no noise. Highly recommended. You will probably need a second USB charger though, so plan accordingly (they are about $5 on ebay).

I use the amplified version for a second zone, works perfect with no issues. I'm sending it to another room up a flight of stairs. I ended up buying an OAW3 during a recent sale, but have yet to use it. I plan to eventually use it to send a signal to 2 powered subs behind my seating.

I just found the Channel Vision WA-321 Wireless Transmitter and the Channel Vision 1-to-many Reciever - seems like a pretty solid combo for ~$100

Seems to be a great option for powered subs...

Any updates on the Outlaw unit? I'm considering the Sunfire SDSWIRXKIT, but if the Outlaw is working well, it is a little less money. Thanks for any info you can offer! Jim.

Coolmeadow Irish Setters and Irish Setter Rescue of North Texas. When Irish eyes are smiling, they're usually up to something!!

At a minimum, I'm Pentatoxic...but most likely, I'm a Pentaholic. There seems to be no known cure. Pentatonix, winners of The Sing Off, season 3

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like Best Buy is the only location to get them...at least they are close! Jim.

Picked up the Rocketfish RF unit today on the way home from work. Simple and it works! Plug the transmitter into the LFE on the receiver, plug in the receiver to the LFE on the sub. Plug in the wall warts to each unit. That's it. It auto pairs and works. It does lose a little volume. I'm sure if I ran the YPAO on the set up again that the receiver would adjust for the change in output. But for half the price of the other brands it's a keeper! Thanks for the heads up Basshead81!!!! Jim.

That's good to know as I'm sure once I do the sub crawl I'm going to need one. I'd think rerunning ypao would help with the reduced volume and with the delay that's inherent in wireless. Nice to know I'll only have to spend $70.

Will Rocketfish work with speaker level inputs instead of LFE?

Too bad. It seems like a nice unit. Any ideas for a wireless connection using speaker level inputs?
