Starting at post 94 you can find some comparisons, myself, I started with two Paradigm 15" Servo Subs and wound up with the Sub 2.

I picked up the sub 25 today on home loan, I've just run PBK & Audyssey XT32, now lets see how it performs against the sub 1

I have question about the sub1+2 design ?

There are drivers in three directions and I think this will create phase problem and may be some drivers also will face the wall, so is this really difficult to deal with ?

Actually the drivers pointing in all three directions helps to fill the room, the amp and controls will face the wall. Even if it's in a corner there is no problem with the drivers pointing at the wall, you will get even more bass, maybe too much ;

Andy.

The sub25 is going back, the sub1 is staying. I will probably look at adding another sub1 or upgrade to a single sub2 now.

Both awesome subs, splitting hairs between both, the 25 edges it for the low end with movies, the sub1 does everything else just that little bit better in all other departments, not a lot in it IMHO.

Response from Paradigm today

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Sub25 against your existing Sub1. The Sub 25 is a great sub but the Sub 1 shades it in terms of evenness of performance and response. My advice would be to stick with your existing Sub 1 and when your ready to upgrade to add a second Sub 1 to your system which will help even the bass response out across your listening area.

i hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.

HI Guys,

Has anyone considered having a sub 2 and sub 1.

I am considering a sub 2 at the front and a sub 1 at the back of my room. Will this work in a sonically?

I have read that if you are going to have two subs that it is best if they are the same as it would be very difficult to set them up.

For movies and the tactile experience then yes

I had the sub 25 for over a week, it wasn't until I had to give it back to my dealer, that I thought I would really put it to test! after lots of research I spent a marathon 10 hours + pretty much constant over the weekend testing both subs, both EQ'd with PBK and Audyssey MultEQ on and off, changing between the two, the sub 25 does it more for me with movies, it is a beast the sub 1 is an amazing sub, the best sub I have owned, it doesn't have the same attack, brutal force and depth as the sub 25, but it still holds its own the sub1 might very well be the more accurate sub, when it comes to the movies! the sub 25 just pips it for me for me for that movie experience.

I never thought that a single driver sealed sub that size could produce as much depth

Scenes that I tested where I found the sub 25 to be slightly better below:

Edge of Tomorrow - The Invasion
The Conjuring - Floating Hair
Star Trek Into Darkness - Kahn Crashes
CA The Winter Soldier - Fury Attacked in the Car
CA The Winter Soldier - Helicarrier Goes Down
CA The Winter Soldier - Helicarrier Goes Up
The Polar Express - Train Arrival
The Polar Express - Get Us the Blazes Outta Here
The Maze Runner - The Maze
The Maze Runner - We Opened a Door
World War Z - Grenade
Titan AE - The Ice Rings
Edge of Tomorrow - The Invasion
Flight Of the phoenix - Plane Crash
Hulk - falling from the sky
WOTW - Pod Emerges
Tron - The Grid
The Art Of Flight - Chapter 1 - 2

One scene that stands out: The Polar Express - Train Arrival, with with the sub 25, you actually feel like you are in the room in the middle of the scene, things start falling off the shelfs etc with the low end rumble "tactile experience" the 25 sub shakes the foundations of your room " house" and puts you really in the middle of the scene, with the sub1 everything rattles slightly when the train arrives, it doesn't put you in the middle of the room like the 25 does, it is still brilliant though.

For music the sub 1 is better, the 25 is no slouch though in this department, it's a stellar performer also.

Is that what you call a u turn maybe

Just my 2¢ worth.

It's a sub so it's not really going to blend any better or worse than most any other sub so it'll do just fine. I have five B&W Diamond speakers (800 Diamond x 2, HTM2 Diamond and 802 Diamond x 2) plus 3 Paradigm subs and the system is great. The Paradigm subs are two Servo 15a's and a Sub 25.

Just received my second Sub1. I always wanted two and feel that Paradigm may be replacing it soon as the Signature line is said to be changed out next. Wanted them to match and who knows what Paradigm will do with the design or price of the next change.

I've just added a second Sub1 also, I can't get the smile off my face for the last two weeks

I hope you get the same performance I'm getting, I've been in cloud cuckoo land since it arrived

I know I wasnt reaching the limit using one Sub1 but it is amazing how much better it sounds with two of them. Put in Interstellar, Pulse and Olympus has fallen to give both a good workout.

I am thinking about moving up from my Sub 12 to a Sub 1 before the Signature line is changed out.
I purchased a pair of S6 v3 a couple of months ago so I have to let my bank account recover a bit.

Thanks for the reply.

I think the sub1 would be the best fit for my room. I could fit the sub25, but think the sub2 is too big.
Those few extra Hz of the sub2 are tempting though

Your only option for Sub 25 is used. They stopped making it years ago at this point. Only Sub 1 / Sub 2 are current models.

The Sub 1 and 2 have now been around a long time, this makes me wonder if they'll soon be upgraded or replaced.

I've seen new sub25's on a website for a dealer in the UK, but I'd have to find out if they actually have them.
